Unplug it and see if noise stops. Leave it unplugged for at least 10 min. This will tell you if it is the fridge. Be sure and check your batteries in smoke alarms if you have any. I have made several calls for noisy appliances that ended up being smoke alarm battery warnings.

Found this site and the fix worked for mine. You need to press a combination of buttons and this tells you which ones

Hi there, I noticed the same condition when I left the filter in ours a little too long. The optimal performance from the filter is achieved (I have found) when you change it after 3 months. This is about the same amount of time it takes for the light to change from green to red on the filter light.
