Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

My Honeywell thermostat RTH6400 cannot reach to the set temperature.

The temperature only goes up to 18.5C doesn't matter how high the setting is. The temperature was set to 24C one time and it stops at 19C. What is the problem?

My round non-programmable digital thermostat doesn't seem to be communicating with the heater very well. I set it to 70 degrees and it clicks off before reaching that temperature. Any ideas?

It sounds like you may have a round Honeywell thermostat. It could be that the temperature pointer you see on the face of the thermostat just needs to be adjusted. The next time your furnace or AC finishes running, remove the face off the thermostat and use a small screwdriver to set the dial so the pointer temp matches the other temperature indicator.

The thermostat has a function called "Adaptive Intelligent Recovery".

This feature allows the thermostat to learn how long the furnace and air conditioner take to reach programmed temperature settings, so the temperature is reached at the time you set. For example: Set the Wake time to 6 am, and the temperature to 70°. The heat will come on before 6 am, so the temperature is 70° by the time you wake at 6.

You can turn off this function. Download the installation guide at the next link:
http://customer.honeywell.com/honeywell/ProductInfo.aspx/TH8321U1006
and look for funcion number 0530 Adaptive Intelligent Recovery. In this manual you also find the way to do a reset with the function number 0710.

I hope this solves your problem.
