Question about Ryobi Vacuums

1 Answer

I have Ryobi RBL30MVB Blower\Vac\Mulcher. It Vacs and mulches but does not blow. It did blow the first time I used it but not since. The plastic handle mechanism for moving from suck to blow seems

Cleaning the main suction pipe, cleaning the filter into the mulch bag, over revving in case something stuck.

You'll have to go into the turbine assembly and check the bearings. Mine stopped spinning and this solved that problem. I simply began working the seized bearing until it rolled again, packed it in grease and reassembled.

Hoover Steam Vac Spin Scrub Carpet Cleaner won't...
Posted by hoofbeats1 on Jul 01, 2008
My machine is a little more than a year old. I have used it about 5 times. It started leaking the third time I used it. The fourth time I took it out, the brushes would not spin (I did clean them and rinse them after use each time).
Now the engine screams and won't **** anything up. Do you have any suggestions? My last Hoover Steam Vac was great and lasted for 3 years! Hi,
I have a Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 that the brushes won't spin. The lint screen is clean & the brushes switch is in the on position.
It dispenses & sucks up the cleaning solution & water; just no brush action. Help

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The only thing that I can recommend is that you may have a bad switch, some vacs may have a broken belt or the drive mechanism inside the Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 in or by the brush assm section and is need of repair. Please check the trouble shooting section of the owner’s manual if you’re needing help and to save money. If you don’t have one then contact the Hoover factory cust serv. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

SOURCE: Eureka Enviro Vac Model 4470 Not Sucking

First, check to see if there is suction without the hose on the base. If not, and there is no blockage, the problem is likely a damaged impeller, the small fan that makes the suction. That will have to be replaced.

I washed my new wet vac with the hose only used it once but now it doesn't suck it only blows out ! Any answers maybe I hosed it down too much ??

Is the hose connected to the correct port? Wet vacs usually have an input (suction) connection and a discharge (blower) connection.

Lots of shop vacs have an exhaust.....which the hose can be hooked up to for blowing stuff.... sounds like you might have the hose plugged into the exhaust.... look for another hole on the side of the bucket part. .... plug the hose in there.

Shop vac blowing instead of vacuuming

Most Shop Vacs allow you to hook the hose up to the output valve as well as the intake.

Make sure that your hose is hooked up to the intake valve on your shop vac.

To PETMOMBR I recently had the same problem, I contacted Emerson Tool Co to see if a replacement for the blow wheel is available, and sadly it is not. I was told that the Rigid vacs do have replacement parts and some with a lifetime warranty.
Had my vac for approx 10 yrs, I would say I got my moneys worth. In all, I'd say it's a toss, time to get a new one.

My dc14 animal works fine in Vaccuum mode but when I switch to the extendable tool the sound of the vaccuum changes to a higher pitch noise and I get very little suction through the hose. Any suggestion

Your hose has a restriction. To fix this, use a broom handle and insert it into the hose as far as it will go. If the hose can be removed, take it off completely and do this, if not be careful so as to not damage the sweeper with the handle. another way to fix this is to blow compressed air through it (this is good to do to all vacs to keep them working good) You can get the compressed air from an air compresser or a shop vac or even a leaf blower, but that will take two people. Once you clear the blockage the sweeper will work fine again. best wishes!

USE GENIE WET DRY VAC WITH OR WITHOUT PAPER LINER?

The PB15 uses a filter that has a bottom, and is pressed into place. For wet use, I would see if you can use the foam filter for one of the Craftsman small W/D vacs, like the old 2 gallon model, held in place with a rubber band, which is slipped over the cage with the float ball. It needs to be sealed across the bottom. That should cut down on spray making its way to the motor. The PB15 does have one good feature as the vacuum inlet has an elbow which keeps the water from being sucked straight into the motor intake, so the foam filter should do the job pretty well. I’d also look at the bag and rubber band that is used on some of the smaller Craftsman vacs, which sounds like what has been done on yours already. They are easy to find.

Because Genie no longer makes any vacuums or blowers, and did not keep a parts inventory to support owners of their products (a reason not to buy one of their garage door openers) it might be best in the long run to ‘garage sale’ the Genie, and buy a new vac from a brand that will be around for awhile. I have two Craftsmen, and one Ridgid, besides the PB15, which is going in the nest garage sale, for the above reason.

As far as your blower to vacuum problem -- The hose is moved from the blower outlet, which is the top black piece with the handle and switch, to the hole in the canister for vacuum. The intent of the PB15 was to use the top piece as a hand held electric leaf blower, or when attached to the yellow canister as a vacuum, when you use the hose attached to the canister.
