SOURCE: i have problem vit tally.

You either need to upgrade your version of Tally.ERP9 or your need to rewrite your data.
I would suggest you to rewrite your data using the following method.
Take a backup of your data.
1. Run Tally. 2. On the select Company screen press "Alt +R" 3. Select your company 4. Rewrite your data.
It would work now.

I have a company in tally 5.4 data folder but the company name is not showing in tally

If you have a company in the Tally 5.4 data folder, but it's not showing up in Tally, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Check the data folder location: Make sure that the company data folder is placed in the correct location that Tally expects. In Tally 5.4, the default data folder location is typically "C:\Tally.ERP9\Data".Check the file extension: Ensure that the company data file has the correct file extension. In Tally 5.4, the company data files typically have the ".dat" extension.Refresh the company list: In Tally, go to "Select Company" or "Alt+F3" and select "C:Data" (or the appropriate data folder location). Tally should refresh the company list and display any valid company files in that folder.Verify company name and data file: Double-check that the company name and data file match. Ensure that the company name displayed in Tally matches the name of the corresponding data file in the data folder.Check for any Tally data corruption: If the company data file is corrupt or damaged, it may not be visible in Tally. In such cases, you may need to restore a backup of the company data or seek assistance from Tally support or a qualified professional to repair the data file.

When i migrate tally7.2 data to tally erp9 error occur migration is unable to reach tally erp9 server

This Error with migration of data occurs when the connectivity is not proper with the Tally ERP ODBC. It includes the IP:Port.

The Default port for Tally ERP is 9090.

To change the port go to the installed tally ERP 9 folder. Click on Tally file type Configuration Settings, open it with a text Editor i.e. Notepad. Somewhere at the bottom will be ServerPort. Change the ServerPort to 9090. The migration will work. I have tested. Works fine with me.

Export the data from excel to tally

  1. make a sale entry in tally
  2. Export the voucher from tally in xml format (this is to give u how the xml looks)
  3. Open the excel file where all the data is ther.
  4. open a word file, so that we can prepare the xml for mutiple vouchers. For this we will use Mail Merge facility
  5. in the XML which we did in step two, copy the data from "<TALLYMESSAGE xmlns:UDF="TallyUDF">" till the </TALLYMESSAGE>
  6. Now open the word file, go to mail merger, select the fields which needs to be changed, that is the Debtors and the amount (for normal sale entries) which should change for every sale voucher.
  7. create the mail merge.
  8. copy the data what you got in word file to a note pad and name it as sample.
  9. open again the step 2 - copy data from " <ENVELOPE> to <REQUESTDATA>" and paste in the begining of the notepad sample
  10. go the end of the notepad sample and copy the data from first file -"step 2" from " </REQUESTDATA> to </ENVELOPE>" and save the file
  11. Open tally
  12. go to import vocuhers
  13. specify the path of the notepad sample and yes ur data got imported.

How to Take a Back up Of Tally 7.2

Open Tally, press Alt+F3-Company Info, you will see Back Up link. Select & enter required fields (drives) where you would like to take back up

Go to company information- click backup - you can take backup on floppy or on hard disk with proper path.
i.e make the backup (or any name) folder on suitable drive. But do not choose C: drive as you may forget when you are formatting the drive.
Then you can copy the same folder on CD to open any where.
