Sounds like a firmware error
contact the maker and look for any recall notice... on the makers site

if you find a recall get a ticket from them and they will replace your machine

SOURCE: Fabric softener stays in drawre

We just had a tech come out to fix this problem for us. Essentially, the problem is that the fabric softener builds up and gets clogged. He cleaned out a solid hunk of frabric softener gunk, and suggested that we dilute our fabric softener with water to keep this buildup from happening again.

SOURCE: WFLI2440 FRONT LOAD FABRIC SOFTENER NOT DISPENSING

Hello !
We also had the same problem a few months ago until i cleaned the little water holes that dispense the water with a steam cleaner (high pressure) it completely removed the blockage after i actually pushed the nozzle against the little square holes where the water come through. After that i ran the machine on a 90 degrees wash empty to get rid of all the gunk and ever since the problem does not seem to happen any more.

SOURCE: Why is water remaining in the fabric softener drawer?

There is a FLAP which acts to prevent backflow into the fabric softener compartment. It is usually synthetic rubber, and covers the end of a tube (from the fabric softener compartment, and is usually cut at an angle. The flap opens to permit the softener to flow out, but apparently is not 'flapping back' to prevent backflow. Best thing is to check that flap, and possibly it is prevented from 'flapping back' by lint or some other bit of fabric/thread/tissue left in a pocket, &tc.

Un lock child lock 10d52 seimins washer dryer

to deactivate the child lock, set program to Easy-Care and hold option down arrow for 5 seconds. If still it does not get unlocked then Try pressing "dry" & "spin" together for 10 seconds or until the CL disappears. Also try pressing "end of cycle" for over 5 seconds. If this doesn't work then try pressing "options & select" till the light goes off. Also try and press ECO and rapid buttons together for more than 10 seconds.
IF IT IS LIKE MY 5202 YOU HAVE TO PRESS AND HOLD THE UNLOCK BUTTON FOR LIKE 3 SECONDS. THIS PREVENTS SOMEONE FROM JUST PRESSING THE BUTTON AND ACTIVATING THE LOCK . TRY THE PRESS AND HOLD METHOD

The times seem to have changed on the settings for soil levels. For instance, the quick is 50 minutes and the normal is 84 minutes. That does not seem right. Is there any way to set them different?

Answer to your question "Is there any way to set them different?" Short answer is no. The Maytag Neptune like many other washers that display a time of cycle first start with an estimated time this relays a lot on the last cycle ran. But, more importantly it also takes into consideration other washing options. For example, lets say that your quick wash cycle used to only display 35 min. now if you select an extra rinse option the time will increase from that 35 min. to a higher amount of time. This is due to the longer time it takes to go through a second rinse cycle. The MAH5500 if I'm not mistaken also has a heater in it so there are options such as sanitize which takes 120 degree hot incoming water (suggested temp. for hot water heaters) and heats it to approx. 165 degrees. And as you can imagine this takes a washer some time to do this (increasing wash time). If you would like to lower washing time check the washing options and remove any that are not needed at that time; pay close attention to extra rinse cycles and the soil levels that are selected. Hope this helps. Cheers.

I need to know what the buttons say on the dishwasher. Mine have no letters

Hi,

Some SHX46 washers have 4 wash cycle buttons and others have 5. The button on the left side on top of the door is the start/stop button regardless of how many wash cycle buttons you have.

If you have 5 cycle buttons, reading from left to right they will be as follows.

1. Top Rack Only / Sanitize
2. Power Scrub Plus - (Long wash for heavy soil)
3. Regular Wash - (Economy wash for light to medium soil)
4. Delicate Wash - (Shorter wash at a lower temperature for delicate items)
5. Rinse & Hold.

These buttons are also used for cancelling a wash cycle. Hold down buttons 2 and 4 (Power Scrub Plus and Delicate) at the same time to cancel a wash cycle and drain the water out.

If your washer does have 4 buttons, it means you don't have a Top Rack / Sanitize cycle, in which case the button configuration - from left to right - will be:

1. Power Scrub Plus - (Long wash for heavy soil)
2. Regular Wash - (Economy wash for light to medium soil)
3. Delicate Wash - (Shorter wash at a lower temperature for delicate items)
4. Rinse & Hold.

With this button configuration, the cancel cycle buttons are 1 and 3.

I hope this solves your problem. If you need any additional information, please post back.

Regards,
BElectric

Washer will not start...indicator lights are on. We have unplugged and tried to start by pressing "cotton/sturdy" and the start/pause. Cannot change settings

Do you hear a double beep sound when depressing any of the other buttons? If so you most likely have a defective key panel. If nothing happens at all, it may be the home control board (inside the control panel). Before you replace the board, try this diagnostics test,
Press and hold the hand wash key and the heavy soil keys for 3 seconds. The display should go to "00" next press the spin only key and the machine should run a quick spin test. When this completes press the "off" key to exit service mode.
Now try the machine, and hopefully you have cleared it's software glitch.
Good luck to you!!

How can I reduce the time needed for a wash ? It takes 2 hours is there any way to make it less ?

Most machines have a soil level selection (light / normal / heavy) and if you select light soil level the wash time is reduced. Also, some machines have a " Quick Cycle " which cuts a lot of time off, which should only be used with lightly soiled clothing. Additionally, make sure you have adequate water pressure, and that the inlet screens are clear so that the cycle is not delayed essesivly due to slow water fill. Regardless of all these, the higher spin speeds of a front loading machine (those have the longest wash times, due to the low water use and the tumbling wash action used vs an agitator in a top load machine) will result in reduced dryer run time, thus helping to reduce the overall time a load takes to wash and dry. (although still longer than most top loading sets) Generally, the energy savings and larger load sizes will outweigh the extra time the machines take.

Quick Service Cycle
While in service mode, pressing the delicates key
will start a quick service cycle. This will be a quick
check of all systems.
The following steps will be followed.
1. Energize the cold and bleach water valves. Fill to
Low level, then turn bleach and cold off.
2. Energize the hot and fabric softener water valves. Fill
to high level, then turn all valves off.
3. Lock the door.
4. Tumble using 7/3 tumble pattern for 12 sec.
5. Turn the drain on.
6. Spin to 800 RPM using default rates.
7. End spin and coast down.
8. Unlock the door when the RPM is zero.

flash on and off while the cycle is suspended, or on
hold.
Motor Drive System
To check the system, check the board for proper
output to the motor control. Performing a board
output test does this. Then perform the Motor
Control Board Output Test.
Motor Control Board Output Test
1. Disconnect power to the washer.
2. Remove the front panel and pull the JP4 Connector
from the motor control board.
The following Quick Spin test steps are as follows:
1) Lock the door.
2) Spin to 350 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
3) Spin to 550 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
4) Spin to 600 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
5) Spin to 650 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
6) Spin to 800 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
If the Spin key is pressed again during the Quick Spin
test, the current speed will be held indefinitely. Pressing
the Spin key again will allow the quick test to
proceed as listed above.
When the washer is in the Service Mode, the speed
will be displayed as a two digit number or a letter/
number.
Quick Spin Test
While in service mode, the pressing of spin key shall
start the washer in the quick spin mode.
3. Reconnect the washer power cord to supply
voltage. Make sure the door is closed.
4. Press delicates and heavy soil keys for 3 seconds
to activate Service Mode.
