Always go to the Nintendo Website before FixYa. There is a place to input your error code and select the system. This is from Nintendo:

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: R4i Card

Which R4i you have will determine what you can do. If you have the R4i Gold, then I'm sorry to tell you, there's no workaround for DSi 1.4. If you have R4i SDHC (redbox) then you can get the latest firmware to make it work again. There's a great tutorial to set it up on with pictures and links to all the official software on their support page.

If you need to upgrade to a DSi compatible card you can get a genuine cards there too. All their DSI compatible cards are clearly labeled. I managed to find this site after I got burned at a few others. Loved having my emails responded to because I had loads of questions, and they were quick to ship it.

Best of luck!

SOURCE: my dsi wont let me upgrade it.

You won't believe this answer but it works!
The same thing happened to me, I kept waiting and waiting and then it would say error. But, all you need to do is close the top of the dsi ( NOT THE POWER! ) and wait a few seconds. Then, when you open it up it almost always has one bar loaded! Keep doing this till loaded.

NOTE: You must open the top and then close it again, even if you wait an hour before opening it will have on bar more loaded!

Good luck!! :)

SOURCE: no internet dsi

This error code means that there was an error with the Auto-Obtain IP address setting. Review this information. NOTE: You may have to set the DNS to Auto-Obtain with the IP address.

If you don't use Auto-Obtain, check the WEP/WPA key. Make sure it matches with the key on the router.

SOURCE: error code 051099"1 nintendo dsi.trying to get

Error Code: 051099Was this information helpful?

Unable to use your wireless signal

Likely cause: It appears that the settings entered into the Nintendo DS are not compatible, or the router's broadcast settings should be changed.

How to fix: Try creating a new connection with your system. Nintendo DSi owners trying to play multiplayer games will want to be sure to read the "Trying to play online multiplayer with Nintendo DSi."

SOURCE: i need help trying to fix this dsi problem and if

This is a common problem, I recommend that you do a reset. You need to unscrew that back holder for the battery and take it out. Leave it out for about 8 minutes, and place it back in. This will reset the device and should solve the problem. Good luck!

My dsi says an error has occurred. press and hold power button to turn the system off. please see the Nintendo dsi operations manual for help troubleshooting

Usually this can be a couple of things. It could be a corrupt download, try and update the DSI over the WiFi again. If it comes up with an error as soon as you try to do an update it is more than likely a bad Wifi card inside the DSi and will need to be replaced.

Hi, could you help me please? recently my stupid nephew tried connecting the internet to his dsi and then he switched the dsi off, when he tried to switch the dsi ON it said: "an error has occurred...

Close the DS, turn the volume all the way down and then press a few more times, reopen, hold down power switch. It should turn off.

If it still doesn't work then it look like it was trying to do an update and was shut off while updating.

For a Guarantee fix you must change your DSi motherboard, they cost around $40 on ebay.

When I insert my R4i card for DSi and select start

What firmware is your DSi using? If you recently updated to v1.4 then it will prevent your R4i from working. Luckily hackers have released their own firmware to fix this problem. Try updating your firmware

When trying to play the games I have always played, I now get the message "An error has occurred. Press and hold the Power Button to turn the system off".

You updated your DSi to the newest version 1.4. This update blocks all currently known flashcarts from operating on the DSi. There is currently no way around this for most flashcarts, like the R4i as it is not flashable. Many of the flashcart makers have fixed the problem and will be releasing updated flashcarts in the future to bypass this.

You should be more careful when using illegal hardware for illegal things!
Or at the very least stay up to date in the community of DS hacking and pirating ;-)

Problem whit open my acekard2i whit dsi an error has occured

Your acekard is blocked by dsi due to nintendo latest updates. You will have to reformat your micro sd using panasonic SDFormatter and install at the root the latest firmware AKAIO download from and the latest updates firmware fix just released 8/17/09 from mediafire ak2ifw_update_14.rar (3.05 MB). Your root should contain these files __aio, ak2ifw_update_14_DSi, ak2ifw_update_14_DSL, akmenu4.nds, readme_AKAIO. Now take you card and update it with an nintendo ds lite or phat by inseting the card and when you see the file update click on it and it will be updated and work again in your dsi. I just experienced this and the updates work if you know how to apply them. Good luck!!! Danny phantom icon appears instead of A2K
