How to replace the motor for the roller brush on the Eureka Optima upright lightweight 431

If you can hear the motor but the beater bar doesn't turn, it's the belt that needs replacing. If you don't hear a thing when it's plugged in and turned on, then you need a new vacuum. Besides, the part, if you could buy one, may cost half of what a new unit will cost. Treat yourself!

Chances are the motor died or went bad.
You would have to get a new motor.
You can find one here:

Why is my central vac. making such a loud noise. It sounds like jet getting ready for take off. It seems to be getting louder. I'm not using it because i'm afraid it's going to explode or...

The bearing or the motor is warn out they last 15 years in the case. In some rare case the brush ware out or the rely can catch fire, most central vacuum are not made to be oiled! Hot oil will catch on fire. Best to unplug the vacuum unit call a few shops and ask replacement motor cost, if you remove the Vac and take to them it will cost less.

Dyson DC07 motor does not come on. Hoses are

depending on where you take the unit. the motor is about $60 or $70, shop time at a vac shop is going to be about $40 to $50. The whole thing will run you about $150. you can go to the Dyson web site and find a service center.

Motor problem

sorry but your machine is toast, you could have the motor replaced but depending on the age and cost, it might not be cost effective to do so. I'm not a fan of water extraction carpet cleaning ( its bad for the padding and the soap residue tends to attract a lot of soil ) a dry cleaning method would be best, host is the brand that i recommend most. If you need to have a machine at the home, the hoover is about the best because its got the least amount of things to go wrong.
