Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
Ran the machine through the automatic diagnostic test and both the bleach dispenser and the detergent dispenser overflowed. Water from the bleach dispenser will leak onto the floor, while water from the detergent dispenser will flow into the tub. I can duplicate the problem in the automatic diagnostic test mode but not the manual. In manual mode, I can run the valves forever, switching between hot, warm, and cold water settings without an issue. A repairman tested the resistance of the water inlet valve solenoids and stated they were fine. He recommend replacing the control board at a cost of $436.00. After running numerous automatic and manual diagnostics tests, the overflowing only occurred once more, when in the beginning it happened every time. Is the water inlet valve the culprit and not the control board? Whirlpool has a service point bulletin that recommends changing the bleach dispenser for overflow problems.
Change the bleach dispenser.
Also make sure the tubes are not slightly clogged from residue build up of mildew.

Try cleaning your inlet valve filters. Turn off your water supply and remove the hoses from the washer. The filter screens are located just inside of the valves. Just twist them out, clean, and reinstall.

Check cold hose to see if it is clogged or the filter in the end of it is. Make sure water freely coming out from the tap. If that is all ok then replace the watter control valve on the cold side.

It seems that it needs cleaning... you can run your washer with nothing inside it at
its hottest temperature setting with 2 cup of vinegar inside the unit. After
this clean the drain pump assembly completely, also clean the
drain hose and drain pump filter, the spots should disappear after doing all
this. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
