I am getting an E4 code on my Cook Essentials Pressure Cooker. In the manual it says it is a signal switch malfunction but doesn't say what to do about it. Any suggestions?

My Deni electric pressure cooker is showing E4? Cannot cook?

An E4 Error for your Deni means that there is a signal switch error. Turn off the pressure cooker, un-plug, and wait for it to cool. Then, try again. If it continues to give you the E4 error I would recommend contacting the manufacturer - but, unfortunately, Deni has gone out of out business.

Here is the manual for your pressure coker, if you don't already have it:

Cooks essentials manuals

Well, it depends on the model, I looked the digital pressure cooker manual (found here http://www.hippressurecooking.com/category/manuals/cooks-essentials/) E4 is a Signal Switch Malfunction. The recommend turning off and un-plugging the pressure cooker and letting it cool of completely before trying to use it again.

Se e4 on my cooker what do i do

The problem is a Signal Switch Malfunction. It has to do with the power switch and the pressure switch from what I have been able to find out. Mine doesn't have a pressure problem it just goes to E4 once you set the time. I gave the switch a good smack and it has been working for a while. This is the second time and this worked both times now. I am sure the switch will have to be replaced at some time. From what I have seen this is a very common problem. There is one way to fix this problem, albeit not the best. I was able to bypass the E4 error by completely bypassing the electronics and wiring the heater coil to get power whenever the pressure cooker is plugged in. It was a very simple job, anyone with any electrical experience can do this. The only problem is that it is a safety concern as there is no way for the heater to turn off even if pressure is getting to be way too high. There may be a pressure relief valve in the lid but the heater coil won't shut off, so don't leave it unattended! But at least this way to you can still pressure cook. When I try to set the time on my electric wolfgang puck pressure cooker, I get an "E4" and a beep. What is the problem?

I actually have one I use all the time at home. We LOVE it but this seems to a common issue.

I have come across this error when I am cooking rice and then trying to pressure cook something else immediately after. I have found that If I release the pressure valve and manually let the steam release, then my chances of getting the getting the E4 errror are less, but it recommends not to do that. :( Another way I have gotten rid of the code was to open the machine. Let it cool off by washing the lid and pulling the pan inster out of the base and let that cool as well. Then I will unplug the machine and basically start all over. The error will go away after some time either way, it's just unfortunate that it can't go from meal to meal when you have several different dishes you need to make. Don't THROW away your machine with an E4 error, just give it time to reset

My Wolfgang Puck pressure cooker shows 'E4' in the display.

There doesn't seem to be any legit way of fixing this. I tinkered with the pressure sensors and valves, kicked the pressure cooker a few times, still the E4 error presented itself.
