Question about Tablets & eReaders

Open Question

Ok so i was using my next book NX785QC8G yesterday and I noticed it was getting warm, I figured it was because it was also charging at the same time. So I sat it on the table to cool down and came back to it about 20 minutes later. When I got back on it, it was running super slow and then it just completely shut off on its own! It was still plugged up to the charger and the red light was still on but I couldnt get it to turn back on. I even tried the reset thing where you hold power button and volume+ and it didn't do anything. after a few minutes of wondering what just happened, I popped out the SD card and unplugged it from the charger, when I hit the power button it came back on as if nothing even happened! Just when I think everything is ok, I put the SD card back in and as soon as hit the mount button, it shut off again just like before. Now my SD card does the same thing when I put it in a Nintendo 3DS, just makes it shut off... Does anyone have an idea of what happened?? I have a lot of important files on that SD card and hope its fixable somehow...

SOURCE: my literati wont turn on

Hm. Not sure how much help I'll be, but I'll give it a shot.
- Make sure the device is charged for at least 6 hours if this is its first use. If it isn't, charge it for several hours anyway and try it again. Make sure the charger is plugged all the way into the outlet and all the way into the device (mine sticks out about an eighth of an inch, yours might too). - Call customer service at 866-204-4714 and describe the issue. I had something a little like this issue (I was stuck at "Literati" screen) and they said to drain the battery and recharge it fully to see if it made any difference, and that if it didn't work they'll be sending along a package to ship it back to them for a replacement. If nothing works, ship it back to them for a replacement.

SOURCE: my uncle has a velocity

The first Firmware version for the R101 was buggy so it is a possibility that the OS is damaged. Go to this site here and follow the instructions to try to update the tablet.

SOURCE: My Android Cruz Reader R101

This sounds similar to something that happened when I tried rooting my android phone. If it's the same thing, that means you will need to go to recovery mode and install an update.zip package that you can find somewhere online for it. It's because the code for what's supposed to happen after that screen is overwritten and it doesn't know where to go.

My Nextbook model NX785QC8G freezes when you turn it on. How do I reset it to the factory settings? I have looked, but have not found a reset button.

Check http://support.nextbookusa.com/support/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/84/0/reset-instructions-for-nx785qc8g.

1. Hold down the Volume (+) and the Power button at the same time, until you see No Command on your screen. (The tablet will act like it's going to turn on and go black, continue to hold your buttons until No Command shows up on your screen)
2. Release your buttons when you see the No Command appear on your screen.
3. Tap the Volume (+) once, and a blue menu will appear on your screen.
4. You will use the Volume (-) to navigate and the Power to select. Tap theVolume (-) until you highlight "Wipe Data Factory Reset"
4. Press your Power button to select it.
5. You will see a list of "No's" and one "Yes." Use the Volume (-) to go to the onlyYES on your screen.
6. Press your Power button to select the Yes.
7. This will prompt your tablet to go through the motions of resetting itself. When you see the words ''Wipe Data Complete", tap your Power button once to selectReboot System Now.
8. Your tablet will power off and power back up on its own; this will take a little longer than normal, so give it a couple minutes before it boots.

My tablet keeps shutting off

Nextbook 8 NX785QC8G shutting down on its own FreakTab com

shaunmt might have answer

Read through the other threads here about the NX785QC8G. They all have problems with the battery connector. The cable comes loose from the socket, which leads to incorrect batter level monitoring, sudden shutdowns and improper or no battery charging.

You'll most likely have to remove the back of the tablet, unplug and firmly replug the batter cable and consider options to prevent the cable from pulling loose again.

Nothing happens when I rub my mouse keyboard on my Asus Transformer T100. How do I get it to be visible

Ok I have been thinking about your problem. How long did you actually charge your Asus Transformer?
You might need to charge it about 8 hours minimum to get it to work efficiently. Try that and see what happens.

first thing i got to ask..did you try using a hair dryer on low heat to dry your hair and tablet after u figured out eletronics and water dont mix?
next time try a ziplock bag to keep it dry..ahaah. just kidding.
here is a link i use to walk customers thru opening up a tablet..follow it close.. if open it up and use a soft cloth and gently dap any standing water..then let it AIr dry for 24hrs..then if still not working..plug in power for while to warm up..use a hair dryer on low to dry any hard to reach spots..if it still doent power up...use it for a soap holder and buy new one
good luck
