The drum on my dryer seems to be stuck and is not spinning, the belt is on and seems to have the proper tension. Can someone help me get this dryer running again?

The drum seems to be at tilt, is that normal?

Hi, Many dryers use rollers or wheels to support the clothes drum. When these rollers are worn, they can be noisy. You should replace the whole set of rollers at the same time. Also dryers have a tension or idler pulley that keeps tension on the main drive belt. When it's worn, it can be noisy. When that happens, don't lubricate it. Just replace it. Many dryers use nylon or plastic glides at the front of the clothes drum for support. When these are worn, they can be noisy. When that happens, replace them.

Drum does not spin. Belt appears to be ok

You have a bad tensioner or a bad motor. The tensioner for the belt can drag the motor. However, what you are describing sounds like the motor is shot. But make sure you are getting correct voltage to dryer and nothing is binding the motor.

My dryer tries to spin the drum when you push the start button but seems like it's having a hard time. If I spin it by hand it will start and run for about 5 to 10 minutes then shuts off and seems to

I would first check the belt, then check the belt tensioner, and finally the wheels the drum rolls on. You will find a worn belt, or worn or out of adjustment tensioner, or wheels that are worn at their axels. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Sounds like drum is locked and motor is running and burned the belt. Try to spin drum by hand, Might check drum ends felt seals, Teflon bearing strips located on the bottom lip of front drum end for wear causing drag. Also check 2 drum support wheels to see if they spin freely, take the belt off motor pulley and spin drum by hand, if easier & motor runs drum is dragging. How is the spring on tensioner, does tensioner pulley spin free? Hope this helps locate the problem.

Dryer works but makes high pitch noise

This probally the idler pulley, drum rollers, or a bearing hard to say until you take it apart and take a look. There is a good video on checking and replacing these parts at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html
Hope this helps

Dryer wont spin, I changed the belt it spinned that day, but when I used it the next day it didnt spin.

Possible cause below:

Belt not in tension or not installed properly.
Faulty motor.
Drum is locked.
Other unrelated fault that had shown shortly after replacing the belt.

Belt and assembly trouble. Please help!!

Hi,
Yes, there is a tension pulley but I"m at a loss as to how you're burning the belt, if not routed around the tensioner... seems to me you'd have a world of belt slack.
You might check and see if you can freely spin the drum, or if it seems to be locked-up. There may be an obstruction, keeping it from rotating... it shouldn't require so much effort.
Just a suggestion... Good luck.

BELT WON'T TURN THE DRUM

there is a tensioner pulley as well as the drum and motor
It hooks into a slot, usually on the floor of the case, and has a spring that pulls it against the belt to tension the belt.
Broken belts have been known to knock the tensioner out of place, it should be sitting on the floor of the case as should its spring.
There is usually ony one slot for it to sit in, self evident if you know to look for it
loop the belt around the drum.
slide the belt down the drum directly over the motor pulley
loop the belt around the motor pulley
pull the tensioner pulley hard to the end of its travel against its spring
wrap the belt around the tensioner pulley
release the tensioner so the spring pulls it against the belt
rotate the drum by hand to ensure the belt is aligned and does not pull offf the pulleys
reassemble case
dry clothes
its easier than it looks seeing a broken belt in the bottom of the case.
fd5c779.jpg tensioner may be on the bottom run pushing up, or on the top run pulling down
