Here's a link to the LG site so that you can download a service manual (in PDF format). This should help you determine the steps involved in removing and replacing the motor as well as helping you to identify and order a new, replacement motor: Good Luck

Water leaking on floor? How to fix

Depending on how old the unit is will depend on where to look for the leak. You have an incoming water line, a motor (with an impeller) and a discharge hose. First look at the hoses, motor assembly and areas under the washer tub for tell tale signs of leaking. Look for staining, usually a line like white powder will lead you to the leak. If none is found, start with the incoming line; first look at the valve that feeds the dishwasher, see if that is leaking. if it is, it will have to be replaced. Look at the feed hose to the dishwasher and see if it is brittle and cracked, if it is, replace it.Look at the discharge hose for brittleness and cracking as well, also check the connections to insure they are tight. If the hoses are found to be in good shape then look at the motor. There is a gasket that is in between the motor housing and the washer, see if it is leaking if so, replace it. You will have to remove the dishwasher to access the motor so be prepared to spend some time to complete this. Good luck and I hope it is just a hose issue.

Frigidaire dishwasher leaks from motor

This is caused by the cheap bearing's in the motor. Even after I have replaced my $200.00 motor assembly it still leaks. put a small flat dish under it as the leak should be small and when the dishwasher starts making a loud noise the bearings are gone and I do not recommend replacing motor as it is half the price of washer itself. I myself will never buy a fridgidaire again. However if you do replace the motor assembly it is very easy and there is a video on youtube showing you how. good luck

Water leaking under the dishwasher

I have Kitchenaid model number (KUDE70FVSS2) and thought it was great (so quiet) until recently when I had to remove it for unrelated reason. That's when I noticed leaking (slow drip) when running. Laying on back (to prevent water going everywhere) isolated problem to the motor (diverter motor) and with a little internet research discovered that the factory had installed the washer (between the motor and the sump) upside down! Washer has deep groove which should face downward so that it covers part of the motor housing and seals completely. Well as result washer had been leaking (slowly) for a while, and on top of floor damage, motor connectors corroded into nothing. Motor actually seems fine and (be warned) replacing wouldn't fix the problem. Now trying to figure out how to reconnect wiring to motor without having to buy whole new wiring assembly. While motor replacement is fairly easy (two screws and two wire connectors), replacing entire wiring assembly involves door disassembly, lots of connectors and it's twice the price of the motor. Grrrr so mad at manufacturer now since this seems like intentional obsolesce.

My kenmore elite dishwasher will not start.

Thanks to another post, i found how to clear this code, by alternating between the High temp dry and air dry buttons the dishwasher went into diagonostics, then cleared. I found then that the washer would fill but not wash then it would drain. I found the motor was almost seized, I am replacing. The 7 flashes must be a code for the motor going on overload.

Wont start

It sounds as if your motor may have locked. Remove the lower service plate, visually inspect the motor and housing. Try to start the washer, while looking at the motor. If there is no motor movement, Turn off washer, and try to free the impellor. More than likely it is stuck and needs a little help turning
