SOURCE: lights stay on
manually turn the dial pass the red pointer. that shoudl shut-off the light.
if not, you have a defective timer.
if it does. follow the instruction set the gree pointer for the time to turn-on and set the red pointer to the time off.
turn the dial one or more revolution till the arrow head in the center align with the time of day in the center windows.

You need to plug them into the two yellow outlets, not the blue ones. The blue outlets are for night lights if you have them. Set the timer for 6 and stop at 12am. If you plug them into the two yellow outlets they should go on at 6 and turn off at 12, however If you also plug something into the blue outlets they will turn on as soon as the yellow outlets turn off, it's sopposed to switch from your day lights to your night moon lights automatically provided you got the moon lights plugged in the blue outlets. Hope this helps....

1) Copy following link to help identify same-similar timers with dawn-dusk selectable time Off.
2) Stanley-Westinghouse timers have 1 year limited warranty, but unknown who you contact for warranty service.
Buy Woods, Intermatic, or GE timers instead.
3) Do not exceed watt rating.
Make sure bulbs are operable.
Try different bulb in same timer output to see if outlet has power.
Buy timers at local store for ez return and exchange.
Try on different outlet.
Test outlet for 80% rated voltage.
