What does the fan look like for HP m7680n i need to replace it. at boot msg, fan failed press F2 to continue etc.

  • With the power off open the case. Generally it is the left panel that will slide off after you remove the screws in the back.
  • You will see the fan setting on top of the CPU heat sink.
  • Turn on the computer. That fan should run.
  • If not, turn off the computer, remove the fan and take it to a mom & pop computer store and ask for a replacement. Shouldn't be very expensive.
  • If you don't feel comfortable do what I suggest, take the tower to a mom & pop computer store and they can do it. There might be a minimal charge in addition to the fan.

I would not run the system very long (minutes) until the fan problem is resolved as you can over heat the CPU and ruin it.
I do this for fun & 4 thumbs not for $$$$

How mush time stays the laptop in on state? Check the airflow ports (incoming and outgoing) and clean with a small brush and a vacuum is case of dust. Try again and report the results with a post.

CPU fan turns for a few seconds and stops, pc will not turn on. Have tried a good PSU, same issue. Removed all connection to motherboard apart from 20 pin, 4 pin power + cpu fan and PW switch: same issue.

1. First of all Remove dust from your CPU fan and try again if issue has been not resolve

2. Second test your SMPS by the help of Green & Red wire. In case fan is turning properly it mines your SMPS is ok

3. Third & last kindly replace your SMPS For the same.

Hello I have a monitor DELL E228WFP and it turns black after a while. I have it about 1 year, and it turns black for no reason. I wan't to know how to make the flash light test on my monitor.

Okay, there is what is known as a Diagnostic Partition in all Dell computers. When you turn on your computer you need to Tap F12 when you see your BIOS load (which is the first thing you see on your screen when you turn on your computer.) You will then see several options, if you did it correctly, and the one on the very bottom usually says something along the line of "Boot to Utility Partition" and there will be an option for a screen test. Run it.

Please tell me if you need any further assistance.

Beep sound when swith on

good day,

a beep from your cpu system means that there is an error. and since there is a "cpu overheat" error, it could mean that your cpu cooling system (or its fan) is not working.

the shutdown is a defense mechanism of your cpu in order for your cpu not to self distract.

have the cooling system replaced as soon as possible to avoid further damage.

i hope this will help

No light is on but fans on

I would bet your system has been overheating - that's why it kept shutting off. Now it may have overheated and killed your CPU or mainboard. These laptops require quite a bit of disassembly to get at the CPU. You will probably have to take it to a repair shop for further work.
