How can I prevent my Saltwater aquariums from accumulating so much salt on the outside of the tank.I have to clean saltwater build up at least every 3 days.I have a 125 Gallon and also a 55 Gallon Sal

I am no expert on saltwater tanks, but I am wondering what temperature you are keeping the tanks. The water evaporation rate of the tank depends on the temperature and humidity of the room the tank is in. Lowering the tank temperature to around 70-72 `F and increasing the ambient humidity to 60+% RH will reduce evaporation which will result in less salt encrustation.

Culligan n8 black hose fell off and water was flowing out until i turned off the valve how and where do i re attach thx

If the "black hose" is about 1/2" in diameter it attaches to the drain elbow on the left side of the valve. Use a hose clamp, cut some of the drain line back (about 2") slide it back on the drain elbow and clamp it on the elbow.
If the black hose is 3/8" it attaches to the fitting on the salt tank, which attaches to the float.
If it broke because it is brittle I would go to any water treatment dealer and get a new piece of "brine line" to replace it.

Cullihan water softener-No water in tank-Orange water in house-Salt level measured 3 months ago, has remained the same. ( no salt used ) Repair man claims to have fixed the timer 45 days ago.

the way a water softener is set by , goes off the hardness of the water and how much water you use. Doing a manual cycle will show you if its at least working or not. If nothing happens when you do a manual cycle then you should call back the repair man and have him look at again. The float might be stuck in the brine tank, you can try emptying the salt and cleaning the salt tank out side with a hose, spray water in to the float and make sure is clean and free . Add salt with 3 gallons of water and do a manual cycle. If this still doesn't work then it could be a stuck valve inside the water softener that is stuck closed.

Aftre the unit regenerates the water is not replenished in the salt tank?

At the top of the float assembly in the brine tank is a round nut that unscrews. Be careful when pulling this out. The refill flow restrictor is inside this part. There is probably some debris plugging the refill restrictor so it is not re-filling the salt tank with water. Also take the float assembly out and clean it thoroughly. The slots at the bottom where air check sits can become plugged with iron and restrict the refill. If all of this is fine check the eductor/injector assembly. From there it is the refill piston that may be at fault.

I inherited a water softener system with the house - I do not have any manual or cannot see the name anywhere. It worked fine for 4 years and now it's stopped and do not know what to do? We added the...

There are a number of things that it could be. The main problem is that the softner is not sucking the brine into the tank. It still ran water into you tank till the safety shutoff stopped it. This made all the salt turn into a big lump. You will need to find out why the unit does not have suction when it is in the "brine and rinse" mode. Probably either the float in the brine tank is stuck or there is dirt in the screen at the top of the hose out of the brine tank that is stopping the brine from being sucked up the hose. First empty the tank and then you can see what the unit is doing from there.

Problems with reverse osmosis water treatment system Treatment systems for household water supplies gives a great description for reverse osmosis systems. I am not familiar with the Maruyama system since I live in the states. After reading the above article you might want to test your water. Your system may be operating properly? To me it soulds like you have a water softner and flushed the salt out, and now you have the proper pellets? If your water is not very hard you shouldn't use too much salt. Building supply stores sell cheap water test kits. Try that, and if your water tests ok, and doesn't smell, and lathers up with soap sounds like everthing is working ok. Hope I helped

Have a 30yr. old mark 20 culligan water softner which still works

You should not have to adjust the brine setting. Just the days per week. The salt dosage is dependent on the capacity. If you cut back on the days used you will still need to use the same amount of sodium to regenerate the softener.
