Turning it off and on and at first it would come back on, then it totally quit and I get nothing
If still under warranty then take back to place of purchase!
Hi
I don't know where you are in the world, so this may not be as helpful as I would wish.
In terms of goods failing then in the UK the sales contract is NOT with the manufacturer, but with the selling party. If the Sanyo was new at point of purchase, it may be worth going back to the vendor, as they may have a more direct way of contacting the manufacturer if they don't accept their responsibility as a vendor to sell goods of "merchantable quality"
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

IF the Standby Red Light does not come on when you plug in the TV:
1) Check fuse on back panel next to power cord. Pull out cord and pop fuse holder out. On an ohmmeter, it should read 0(short)-that is a good fuse.
2) Check the fuse on power supply board next to power connector. It is soldered onto board.
3) Be careful with this step: With all boards screwed in place, plug in TV and then unplug it. Next take a Voltmeter set on 200 Volts and test large electrolytic cap in middle of board-should have @100-200 volts on it. Do not short the capacitor-big fireball flash explosion if you do!
If 1-3 test OK, then:
D10 is shorted. HER304 in middle of Power supply board near large electrolytic cap. Replace with same diode or Radio Shack 276-1144 3A 400PIV Diode. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH HIGH VOLTAGE PRESENT ON POWER SUPPLY BOARD. UNPLUG POWER CORD!!! OBSERVE PROPER POLARITY WHEN REPLACING DIODE-LOOK WHERE THE BAND IS.

Yes,unplug, replug the tv an hour later. The tv should reset itself back to factory setting and work. Not,than the tv power supply board have problems. That the board, where the power a/c coard plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
