SOURCE: blurry screen

If you got sand/water in unit, it may damaged the circuits. You may have it cleaned completely, which could cost as much as a new camera.

SOURCE: I just bought a Vivitar DVR 865HD camera...screen too dim!

If you press the OK button on record video mode, you get a set of menus that includes white balance, exposure, resolution, etc. You probably already figured this out, but for anyone else that has the same problem, hope this helps!

I have a vivitar DVR 949HD video camera and am trying to find if there is a way to extract information about the date a video was taken.

It depends on the format of the recording. If its a digital recording there is a freeware software package called DVdate I have used this a number of times.

For the software, you can go the link and download it to your computer. As for the USB cable...I don't know if it is a generic micro usb to usb. Any camera shop will be able to confirm the correct cable needed.

I have a ViviCam X014N. Everytime I take a close up pictures, the images comes up fuzzy. What am I doing wrong? I follow Macro setting recommending 30-45 cm away, but still no luch.

Sounds like you're not using a tripod. Macro pictures have a very small area that can be in focus....the slightest movement can cause the blurry pics.

The videos that I do are blurry

Hello Friend,
if the videos that you are taking are blurry, this can be related to a wrong configuration or screen issue or lens issue. here is how to diagnose the issue:
1. first you can start by doind a reset factory of your camcorder, this can be done from the camera menu.
2. if after reset the problem persist, you will need to check if it's related to the screen or no. you can check that by transferring the videos to your computer and play them from there. if they are blurry even on your computer. that means it's not related to the screen.
3. Try to take videos in different places with different conditions (dark place, in public place during the day with natural light, indoor with light ...) if they are all blurry in all places, that means it's related to the lens.
4. In this case, you can try to clean the lens with a Microfiber tissue and see if this will help. otherwise the lens is broken and needs a repair and in this case i hope that the camera is still under warranty.
Good Luck!

Vivitar DVR 550

Problem is not with Vista or the camera drivers. More likely it’s that the camera is set in “macro mode” which is used for taking photos of things real close. On the right side of the camera there is a slide switch, you want to be sure that it is in the up position (Normal).

If the switch is in the correct position, look if the lens is clean. Even if the LCD shows a good image a smudge on the lens will show up on the photo.
