The frequencies available using the channel knob on the Sport 10X would match the first 10 frequencies in the TalkAbout Distance or Distance DPS. If your Sport 10X has the optional add-on PL board (private line), it will be 8 dip switches behind the battery tray in the lower left. If your radio does not have the PL board you will need to set your TalkAbout Distance radios to Code Off when programming.

Best regards.

Correct. The 10X by Motorola uses Dip Switches for both frequency and tone codes. Both are under the battery tray. As you look at it, the left switch which has 4 dip switches is the frequency. On the right is the tone board with 8 switches. You can match the Motorola Distance radios if you have the settings. The 10X has a lot fewer frequencies and tones to choose from. Try this link:

Have noise on left back speaker channel of onkyo 606 blocking sound from movies etc

Hi Brendan, have you swapped the speaker from the left channel to the right one so that we can be sure that it is not the speaker? You can also try a hard reset:

To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings.

How do i program my 10x radios to work with my talkabout distance radios

I posted to your last request. The 10X uses dip switches and not the PTT to program. Here is the link again:

Need battery tray for motorola sport 10 x

Unfortunately, the battery trays for this Sport 10X radio, Sport 7X and the later model TalkAbout Distance DPS are no longer available. In our repair facility we often get requests for these battery trays, and as a dealer we have not been able to get them for several years. Your best option is finding a used parts radio somewhere like ebay. In some instances the original tray can be fixed if you still have it.
Best regards.

Hold in the PTT button while turning on the radio. It will announce the code setting. Using the PTT button you can press it until you reach the setting you want. Then press the Monitor button to lock it in. Next it will announce either 2-5 or 1-2-5. This is your setting for wide or narrowband. You should be set to 1-2-5 narrowband. Press Monitor to lock in your setting.
The frequencies of this radio are not programmable, they are factory preset.

Here is a link to the TalkAbout Distance manual
http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/manuals/DistanceDPS_User_Manual_E.PDF

The Sport 7 and Sport 10X were predecessors to the TalkAbout Distance. Most of the manual will be relevant to your radio. We will stay on the lookout for the Sport 7 manual and if found repost a solution here.

One primary different between the Sport 7 and the others mentioned is that it does not have a frequency eliminator code (PL, Private Line, etc.) It simply operates open squelch. If using this radio with other newer TalkAbout radios you would need to turn your Code to off (zero) on the newer units.

Best regards.

The received signal will not 'overcome' the Squelch unless I press the Monitor button

Your PL is not programmed correctly between the radios. To program, hold in the PTT button while turning on the radio, it will announce the CODE. Use the PTT to walk thru the numbers and select the same number on each radio. Press the MONITOR button when you have chosen the number you want from the menu.

Following pressing the MONITOR button your radio will announce whether it is set to narrowband (12.5) or wideband (25). This setting needs to be the same on all radios also. It would be preferable to choose 12.5, as all radio users are required to change to narrowband by Jan 2013.

If reprogramming the PL does not solve the problem, you have a radio needing repair. The currently flat rate repair is around $69 for this style unit.

Best regards.

I have an older model Motorola sport 10X radio that has two pin connection. I tried several of the Motorola two pin accessories but the pins are too far apart. Are there any adapters available?

You might try contacting the people at http://www.wirelesspro.com/. They seem to have a variety of accessories for the Motorola Spirit and TalkAbout line of radios. The Sport 10X was a predecessor to the TalkAbout Distance DPS.

Otherwise, you might check with your local Radio Shack. It is possible they might have a 1-pin device which might work with the Sport 10X. On some audio devices the second pin is only for stability. The main thing which would make a difference is size, length and placement of rings.

Best regards.

Dose it work good like i live in a prtty good nabor hood dose it get good distance will it conect withe other bigger cb radios

Typically, this type of handheld has a useful range of approximately 1-2 miles. This distance will be increased with other radios being mobiles and base stations. Distances of 5 miles is possible if the other person has a good base station antenna. I would not expect much from the stock rubber ducky antenna.

Need an owner / operator manual for a motorola sport SS radio. does anyone know where i can find / download one?

The Sport SS, is very similar to the Sport 7X, Sport 10X and the TalkAbout Distance radios. We were unable to locate the exact manual for the SS model. Here is a link to the TalkAbout Distance radio which may help: http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/SCANNERS-F-R/Motorola_Distance%20UHF%20Porto_Manual.pdf
