Go to Epson's website and download the current driver for your printer which will include the Monitor utility. You will want to grab the download for scanning as well.

How can i check which ink are out

Your printer should have come with a disk. This disk would have installed the necessary program that runs printing jobs, as well as keeps track of the ink level. Locate this program on your computer (may be under All Programs, Accessories under the Start Menu).
If not, Go into the Control Panel: (see below)
carsandcomps_3.jpg

Above, you see "Hardware and Sound"; and below that shows "View Devices and Printers. Click on this. It will then bring you into the below dialogue box, of which shows any and all printers currently installed and which are being used. (see below)

carsandcomps_4.jpg

Once you have located your printer here - (name etc). Go into your Start Menu: In the Search Box at the bottom type "programs"; look for the words "show which programs are installed on your computer", should be the fourth in the list. Below is what the list will look like. Find your printer here to ensure it's installed.

carsandcomps_5.jpg

Once you have determined it's installed, you need to locate the printer program in your file system. Once you retrieve this, click it to open it. The program should allow you to view the ink levels. With most printers, when ink is low it will automatically open a dialogue box showing the ink levels for each cartridge. If you're printer is not equipped with this feature, then the only way to know if any need changed is when printing a document, and any color is not present.
I apologize for such a long response, as I wanted you to know how to access these files. If you are printing, and all colors appear to be present, without fading, or "blotchy" spots, then your cartridges are still good. You should be able to do a print test (calibration or alignment test) to determine this as well.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Photo impact pro as a software has compatibility requirements. For example, impact pro was invented during the times of windows Xp operating systems with Microsoft computers. Imply that, impact pro would hardly function with apple Mac computers. Since the Xp operating systems, computers have gone through design fronts of Windows Vista 1 & 2, and recently displaying Windows 7 on those acquired on the market over years ago. The most recent multimedia photo editor software's acquirable on the retail market have compartibilies with more recent computers. First, finding a computer still functioning on windows XP, millennium, 2000 or 1998 would make installation possible. However, sustain wearsomeness since windows 98 earlier years computers were least designed for multimedia capabilities as known with Photo Impact Pro 8.5. Second, a possibility of acquiring Windows Xp disk software on the retail market to replace the one on the computer would make impact pro installable. However like known of operating system software's, it is only possible to install the same operating system on an existing one on a computer as restoration purposes. If different software should be acquired like XP requesting installation on windows Vista or Windows 7, the entire hard disk drive has to be erased of media traces of the prior. Alerternately, a new operating system may be installed if only a new hard drive, memory cards were acquired to replace the prior on the computer to make possible installation of Photo Impact pro 8.5

Snapscan 1212u and windows 7

I have found out the hard way that Windows 7 is exactly like Vista - i.e. incompatible with perfectly working equipment - for several PCI add-on cards and my trusted 1212u scanner. My solution: I'm ditching Windows 7 and going for Ubuntu. It supports the 1212u fine with the SANE package. It's ridiculously wasteful to toss working peripherals just because Microsoft can't be bothered to offer decent support for its paid software.
