Preamp changing

This is not program/software error. This is hardware error.
Damage is on the potentiometer. usually caused by a bad contact inside the potentiometer. The most common is the preamp-TYPE potentiometer.Faulty potentiometer can also occur in the other,
depending on what we hear, when (suddenly) the bass sound bigger or smaller, it mean that BASS potentiometer was bad.
Potentiometer must be replaced, because it can not be repaired or cleaned (except, you are experienced in parts repairing).. This is due to the potentiometer is to use a special type.

Error 44

Precor Error 44, Un-commanded Lift Motion Probable Cause 1. Intermittent or bad connection in the lift position sensor(potentiometer).
2. Lift position sensor (potentiometer) is bad.
3. Lower PCA is bad.
Corrective Action
  1. Bad or intermittent connection of the lift position sensor (potentiometer) is the most common cause of the error 44. Inspect all wiring and connections related to the lift position sensor (potentiometer). Repair or replace wiring connections as necessary.
  2. Monitor the lift position number displayed while operating the lift in diagnostics mode. If the reading makes large changes or is erratic, the lift position sensor (potentiometer) is likely bad. Replace the lift position sensor (potentiometer) or lift motor if the lift position sensor (potentiometer) is internal to the lift motor.
  3. If the lift moves without any command entered either manually or through a program, replace the lower PCA.

My K870 foot amptrol no longer lights off the welder. I jumped the "D" & "E" pin slots on the machine & it started, also can stick weld with that option which the tech support...

Hi:

Yes you can repair it yourself, the footcontrol has a micro switch that with time and use it wears out. Contact your welding sales rep or your nearest praxair store (www.praxairdirect.com) and request the micro switch, the sales rep will ask you for the code on the foot control, that one is on the plate on the footcontrol.

Good luck,

Speaker output knobs producing crackling sound from speaker

The problem is that the potentiometer that the knob is connected to is dirty. This is a common problem with age, or quality of installed potentiometer. (potentiometer is the name of the component that the knob attaches to. It usually looks like a 1/2" long cylinder)

There are multiple solutions to this problem. The first is free & anyone can do. While the unit is off. Twist the knob back and forth quickly and rapidly numerous times. Roughly 10-15 times will do. This sometimes allows for the connections within the potentiometer to reconnect, and remove the crackle.

The second solution involves some handy work. The unit's case will have to be disassembled, and the potentiometer that the knob is attached to must be found. There is usually a relief hole somewhere on the housing. Within this relief hole one can spray contact cleaner. This cleans the contact within the potentiometer which is the cause of the crackle. Once the pot has been sprayed, rotate the knob like in step 1.

If steps 1 & 2 do not work, the potentiometer will need to be replaced. This work usually needs a professional. If you are handy with a soldering iron, it can be accomplished. Look for any particular part #'s on the crackly potentiometer, and then copy these into a online parts catalog. Mouser.com and Digikey.com are excellent resources for finding parts. Upon finding a replacement, it can be swapped out, and provide the user with a crackle free knob.

As always, make sure power to the unit is disconnected. If you are unsure of electronics, please use caution, as dangerous voltages may reside that can cause personal injury.

I have a fault code f7 flashing in the burner display on my frigidaire range

Your range uses the ESEC system. Instead of a switch on each burner that controls the temp it has a potetiometer. This pot switch just relays the computer board your desired setting. The board relays power to the element via the specific request made by your selection. Each burner has a potentiometer attached to the shaft. Their is an F-7 42 which is a bad potentiometer (out of range value wise) F-7 40 (open potentiometer, no continuity)
All of the other F-7 codes give specific switch location like F-7 11 (left front potentiometer failed) and so on . For a list of these codes and manufacturers solutions see page 38
You need to consult your Tech Sheet for exact faults on your particular range.

My subwoofer's volume is barely increasing when i turn the knob on the back.

Hi there,

Your volume potentiometer might no longer working properly. You need to inspect the wirings for any loose connection or cold solder. Check also the potentiometer with VOM or DMM if is good, if not the please have it replaced. If have not done electronic component replacement before, I suggest just bring your appliance to an electronic shop/center.

I have to replace the ac door actuator motor behind the ash tray

are you sure it is not the temp control on the heater control panel that's bad?
please rate if this solves your issue.

A/C Electronic Blend Door Actuator The A/C electronic blend door actuator is located on the rear of the A/C evaporator housing assembly.
  • Its function is to move the A/C air temperature control door on command from the control assembly.
  • The A/C electronic blend door actuator contains a reversible electric motor and a potentiometer. The potentiometer wiper is connected to the actuator output shaft and moves with the output shaft to indicate the position of the A/C air temperature control door.
  • A 5 volt signal is applied to the ends of the potentiometer. The voltage available at the wiper indicates the position of the potentiometer. The expressed value of the actuator wiper voltage is sent to the control module and is matched with the wiper voltage of the module potentiometer. The printed circuit board then drives the actuator motor in whichever direction is necessary to make the actuator wiper voltage agree with the control module wiper voltage.
A/C Electronic Blend Door Actuator
Removal
  1. Disengage two push pins retaining instrument panel insulator to instrument panel. Disconnect courtesy lamp from instrument panel insulator.
    1. Remove floor console. Refer to Section 01-12 .
    1. Working from under instrument panel, remove two retaining screws and metal cover from A/C evaporator housing.
    1. Remove A/C electronic blend door actuator electrical connector.
    1. Remove three remaining retaining screws from A/C electronic blend door actuator.
    1. Pull the A/C electronic blend door actuator away from the A/C evaporator housing for a distance of approximately 25 mm (1 inch) to disengage it from the A/C air temperature control door.
