Problem for Frigidaire FRS23H7CS Side by Side Refrigerator

Ice maker frozen on "crushed" ice mode

Without choosing the "crushed" ice option our ice maker is permanently stuck on making just crushed ice now. Any idea how I get the ice maker back to making cubes, understanding pressing the "cube" button is not solving the problem?

Check the bar below the icemaker bin. There is a gold color metal bar that goes from the front of the bin to the back and goes into a lever at the back of the freezer. If the bar gets on the wrong side of the lever it will be stuck in crushed mode.

Most likely it is the push button control. It is expensive to replace. Try tapping on the control lightly to see if the wires just may not be making good contact. May need to be replaced though.
