SOURCE: LG Plasma TV 50PC3D

The TV should be under warranty. Send back. Sounds like the panel is faulty (half the value of the set).

SOURCE: 50 in LG turns on and then clicks and turns back off

The power supply is going in to protect mode. Most often this is a power supply failure, or a failure on one of the circuit boards that is causing the power supply to go in to protect.

If the power supply fault is not too complicated an experienced tech may be able to service it without changing the compete circuit board.

The tech will service this by substituting boards to determine where the failure is occuring. Then he will change the board to fix the fault.

SOURCE: LG 50PC3D not turning on

Without seeing the unit itself and opening it up/running tests I couldn't tell you exactly what is happening, however I can offer some suggestions as to what it could be.
1) your power supply is bad. That clicking sound is the power relay coming on and going off.
2) your main board is bad. It handles a lot of your signals for powering on your set. If it's bad, the tv won't turn on correctly as it doesn't recieve all the right signals.
3) your Y or Z boards are bad. These could cause the power supply to go into shutdown if the voltages on these things are too far out of whack.

Easiest way to tell if you're going to go into your tv is to try to unplug your Y and Z boards and turn it on. If it turns on and stays on chances are one of those two boards are bad.

SOURCE: intermittent remote control problem on an LG 50PC3D

When the remote quits do the function buttons on the set still work? If the set is locking up I would suspect the main board. If the buttons on the set work when the remote doesn't. I would go to the store you bought it at and check the remote there on one of thier sets or go to radio shack and get a remote tester card. It may just be easier to just first replace the remote to determine if it's in the set or the remote. After all the remote will be cheaper than a service call.

Recheck all your connections & be sure you have connected all cables properly, looks like you have lost sweep.

This problems ur tv are having only can be two causes 1) The Y-Sustance main tuner logic board or 2)The tv Plasma screen panel itself it is slowly leaking radiaton and dying,if it is the tv plasma screen panel itself it is dying than the tv not worth repairing because by replacing the plasma screen panel itself will cost the same as a new tv itself. The Y-Sustance board-that the tuner main logic board that take in the tv incomming broadcasting signal cable.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish Y-Sustance main tuner logic board for replacement. This tv problems are 50/50 between the Y-Sustance main tuner logic board or the very exspensive plasma screen panel itself.

I have LG 50PC3D-UD display issue. I'm getting a black screen with thousands of blue pixels in center of screen. 5-6 inches wide orange horizontal from top to bottom moving across the screen. I check and...

The reason the blue pixels are igniting is caused by the driver board, not the power supply or main board. The drivers are part of the LG screen and cannot be replaced.

My lg 50pc3d turns on then off on off on off what is it?

The problem is associated with the power supply or the main board since these two parts are responsible in communicating in order to turn the unit on sequentially.
To find which one is the culprit:
  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Remove the back cover.
  3. Disconnect the cable that connects the power supply and the main board.
  4. Plug the unit to the AC outlet.
  5. If the power supply automatically turns on and stays on, you have a bad main board. Replace it.
  6. If the unit does not automatically turn on or turns on but shuts right off, you have a bad power supply. You need to replace it.
