No connections available for wifi?

I reformatted the harddrive with windows 7 32-bit and I can't connect to the internet wirelessly. I managed to get the wifi button to go from amber to white. The internet icon shows no connections available. I was infomed that the chipset drivers are needed, but I can't find them. Assuming that this is the problem, where are they. Please and Thankyou My email address is kamnous@gmail.com

SOURCE: wireless adapter not showing up in network conections, icon

This happened to me when I had to install a wireless router in my house using my laptop to initialize the network for the first time.
The start up software messed with my settings for wireless detection on my laptop. It turned off the automatic detect for wireless networks in the
"Wireless Zero Configuration"
(This has the settings for the 802.11 wireless adapters
i.e. the one that comes with the R4000 presario)

to get to this hit start>run...
and type in this:
%SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s

go to "Wireless Zero Configuration" and enable automatic startup
, if the service is stopped, start it.
hit the apply button to save your settings.

SOURCE: how do i enable my wireless button in hp 4510s laptop

First of all you need to know a few things:1) Is the wireless part of the wireless modem configured by the BSNL installer?2) If installed then what is the Authentication ID and Password and what should be your IP address?3)If no get the configuration done.4)Is the Wireless adapter driver installed in your PC?if yes then you need to switch on the wirelwss by pressing the Wireless ON/Off button and configure the IP address and connect.
If No then please install the driver from the Driver CD provided at the time of purchase or download the same from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=3934829&lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3934828&taskId=135
and install the driver and restart your PC. Now follow the above steps to connect to wireless network.

If you feel that, my answers have helped you getting solution to your problems then please give a vote.

Thanks.

Hi Welcome to FixYa!
Have you already installed the drivers for your computer? If not yet, it could be the reason why you are not able to use your wifi. Follow these steps so that you could know what to do next:
1)check the device manager in Windows: A)if you are using Windows 7 or Vista: -click on Start, then on the searchbox, kindly search for Device Manager and open it. You should have something like this: mondimondz_1.png
B)if you are using Windows XP: click on start>run>type devmgmt.msc and it will open the device manager Window.
2)If you will find a category that says Other Devices, kindly look for a item that says "Network Controller" if you find it, it means that the Wifi adapter on the comptuer is not yet installed. All you need to do is insert the drivers disc CD if one came with the computer when you bought it. If not, you could try connecting the laptop to the modem directly using a cable and download the driver from Lenovo's support website: www.support.lenovo.com

3)If you still cannot connect with a direct connection, the Ethernet adapter could have been not yet installed also. You could also check it on the Device Manager window and look for Ethernet Controller under Other Devices. or check the category Network Adapters and see if the Ethernet Adapter is installed.
4)if the drivers are already installed, you can try contacting your Internet Provider or call Lenovo's Technical Support Team.
hope this would be a big help!

WiFi can't instlalling in my laptop(dell Inpiron N5010),

Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-Bit) are available.
As the laptop comes with 64-Bit version, these drivers are available at Dell Official Site.
Dell Inspiron WLAN (Wifi) Driver for Windows 7 32Bit are not available from Dell Official or Microsoft Update (online).
I came accross this issue and solved it by searching 32Bit Drivers for the WLAN hardware and found the drivers. Below is the link from Intel Official Support.
Intel WiFi Link 1000BGN Drivers
Download/ Install the drivers/ and Enjoy wireless internet connectivity!
From adaptor properties - Advanced, select AUTO for 802.11n Channel Width to experience 300Mbps downlink Data Rate.!!!

Hope it helps! Good Luck!
