Question about Televison & Video
REMOTE CONTROL NEED TO OPEN.
Try code scanning with a universal remote. My favorite are directv and comcast. directv is mute + select, then 9912, then power, then channel up until the unit powers with the remote, then push select. If you miss the code, you can channel down and back up. Good luck.
Eject button may be any button on the remote, just mash buttons while the unit is on.

The aswer is in the manual that can be had on line, page 45. You have 3 different remote types, 1,2,3, All you have to do is hold down the ENTER button and the number 1 or 2 or 3 on the remote for a few seconds and it will change the setting.

Your DMR is telling you that it is set to listen for RC2 but your remote is transmitting RC1.
Two choices for a fix:
1. Put the remote back into RC2 mode by simply holding both the ENTER and 2 button for at least 5 seconds.
2. Reconfigure the DMR to listen for RC1 by going into the function menus and selecting SETUP. Look for the remote control option. Change it to 1, it will currently display the value 2.

I figured out, unlike all the other posts, you don't have an enter button. But Instead, you would hit the 2 and OK button at the same time for a few seconds. I had the RC1 message and I did the 1 with OK and it worked. so if you have RC2, you should hit the 2 and OK. Should work!!

SOURCE: Remote control problems
I generated the problem of a Toshiba RD-XS34SU/C by clicking SETUP then selecting Operational settings = DR 2. When I did this the remote would no longer do anything.
In the Toshiba HDD/DVD VIDEO RECORDER RD-XS34SU/C OWNER'S MANUAL INSTALLATION GUIDE page 46, 47 the indication is that the remote and DVDR are set to different codes.
If you want to set the remote to IR code DR 2 hold down the EASY NAV button while pressing the 2 button. This sets the control IR code to DR 2.

Hello, Matt with DISH Network here. If the remote is still not working, open the door on the front of the receiver and press the "System Info" button one time. When system info is on your screen, on the remote press the "SAT" button one time, and then press the "record" button three times. Try pressing select to see if it is now working. You can also try to hard reset your receiver. To perform a hard reset, you unplug the receiver from its power outlet, wait 15 seconds, then plug it back in. Try reprogramming the remote again with the first part of these instructions. If the remote is still not working, it may be faulty. If this has not been resolved please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope this helps!
