How do I connect my Humax 4Tune HMS 1000T/AU to my wireless home network

I purchased a Humax 4Tune HMS 1000T/AU on 19/11/2014. I have a home Wireless Lan network, which requires a password to access. Following your Instruction Booklet Page GB22, It says (1) Select "Configure WLAN" I have done that (2) Select the wireless LAN network and press OK. It searches and comes up with "Lindenberg Family Network" I hit "OK" and it comes up with a screen asking to enter Password This network has a password " eg xxxxxxxxxx" (XX etc is NOT the actual passsword" I enter my 10 number password, then hit the "BACK" button as per your instruction booklet, but it comes back to the previous screen asking to enter the password. What am I doing wrong? It is not connecting to my network. Byron Lindenberg

Hi
I am no TV expert but a computer consultant and I find it very strange that they tell you to press "BACK" to save the password for your WLAN. I have found the manual here:
http://www.humaxdigital.com/au/data/product/1397009196/HMS1000T_Manual.pdf
but I don't know whether it is more comprehensive than what came with the TV and it says press "BACK" to save.
In your position I would go through the sequence again but end it with "OK" or "SAVE" depending on what you may have on your remote. All the menus I have on my Humax machine, received in September 2014 say press "BACK" to take no action.
My conclusion is therefore that this is probably a misprint in the instructions. I have given some thought to the effect pressing "OK" might have at the end of setting the password and I can't think of any damage that might be done.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

SOURCE: Connecting 2 routers (ASUS WL-500W and D-Link DSL-G604T Wireless)

This will give you a "Double NAT" setup. Meaning, Your D-Link router is connected to the external internet address assigned to you by your internet service provider. More than likely this is a DHCP address you do not control. Your D-Link router is then translating the address to the 192.168.1.x network. This is the first NAT translation. You are then connecting the ASUS router to DLINK, causing a second NAT translation. (Internet ADSL --> D-Link WAN Port --> D-Link Lan Port --> ASUS WAN Port --> ASUS Lan Port to computer/server/etc. ) If both of your routers are giving out DHCP addresses, then this is all that is required.

SOURCE: Don't know the username to "http://192.168.0.1" router Level One.

If you have never changed this from default then the user name will be "admin" & the password will be "password" or "admin. If you google the default password for Your router model then that shoud find it if this does not work. Don't forget to rate me if this works for you.

I am having trouble connecting my new humax 4tune to my WLAN. The device finds our wireless network with good signal strength but when we put in our wifi password we get an error saying network failed

Good morning Graeme
You have a problem with the connection. What I most often do in this situation is to restart the devices involved, router +.
It takes some patience to wait for the devices to start. I may have to do this a few times but I usually get there in the end.

How do I get connected to broad band with my humax/freesat

Is it a wired or wireless connection?

If it is wired, check that the cable works in another device (such as a laptop).

If you're using a wireless dongle in your Humax, you will need to provide the wireless key to register the dongle with the network. You may need to do this in another device (such as a laptop).

I want to buy a wireless network adapter USB. I do not have internet home, but there is a public connection that is a couple hundred feet away from my house that is public because it is a cafe. Can anyone...

A couple of hundred feet away may be too far for a good signal receiption.
You can increase your signal with an aerial.
You may need to go into the cafe or park yourself nexr door to the cafe.
Use Google to see what is available on the Internet.
Here are a few WEB sites for you to look at.
