here are some steps for some of you "the idiots guide" to unlocking your phone...
WARNING THESE INSTRUCTIONS WILL DELETE YOUR PHONE CONTACTS, PHONE HISTORY, CALENDER DATES e.g. anniversaries
1- take out battery
2- take out sim card
3- re-insert battery
4- turn on phone
5- upon request of sim card type in the numbers... *2767*2878#
6- if that doesn't work type in... *27672878# then scroll back to *2767*2878# and insert the star symbol
7- that should about do you for resetting your phone...

power on phone without sim card. enter code *2767*2878# phone wait restart in some seconds. now put other sim card and power on. it should accept the card now. if not accepting use this code without sim card *2767*3855# and wait for phone to reboot.
