I have a Appollo AAC24-BIB halftime oven. one of the 2 wires coming from the t stat arced and burnt off and burnt the connection off. Customer service sent me a new t stat and I put it together and ran it without the cover to test. I t was fine. I put the cover back on and it immediately blew circuit breaker and the micorowave fuse. The fuseable link did not blow. I along with tech service could not figure out problem . I tried to bypass the the tstat and the machine works on microwave and convection. Anyone have any idea whats going on and what problems I may have.

The cover may be contacting the wires - this will complete the circuit and cause a short. You may need a new part - this time install and ensure that no bare wires are making contact with the cover.

Turntable spigget arced & burned black even after wire brush cleaning arcing occurred on Hamilton beach microwave

If the turntable spigot on your Hamilton Beach microwave has arced and burned even after cleaning it with a wire brush, it indicates a potential issue with the electrical connection or the turntable motor. Here are a few steps you can take to address the problem:
  1. Disconnect Power: Before proceeding with any repairs, ensure that the microwave is completely disconnected from the power source to avoid any risk of electric shock.
  2. Inspect the Turntable Spigot: Carefully examine the turntable spigot for any signs of damage, such as burn marks or melted plastic. If the spigot is severely damaged, it may need to be replaced. Contact Hamilton Beach customer support or a qualified technician to inquire about replacement parts and proper installation.
  3. Check the Wiring: Inspect the wiring connections near the turntable motor for any loose, frayed, or damaged wires. If you notice any issues, they should be repaired or replaced by a professional technician to ensure safe operation.
  4. Test the Turntable Motor: The turntable motor may be faulty and causing the arcing issue. To test the motor, you will need a multimeter to check for continuity and proper functioning. However, this requires electrical knowledge and experience, so it's best to consult a qualified technician for assistance.
  5. Seek Professional Assistance: If the arcing issue persists after performing the above steps, it is recommended to contact Hamilton Beach customer support or a professional technician. They will have the expertise to diagnose the problem accurately and perform any necessary repairs or replacements.

I have a emerson mw8999rd that started crackling and sparking what cause this and can it be repair?

Sounds bad. Most likley caused by the magnetron tube arcing to the waveguide. Repair may be possible, but would be expensive (more than the microwave is worth). And if the arcing was severe or occurred for more that just 2 or 3 seconds, the waveguide may be damaged, and that is unrepairable.

Arcing sparking to carousel wheel. have 8 year old GE advantium 120 microwave oven. Was working just fine with a burnt out lightbulb but when I replaced the over head lightbulb it started to arc to the...

I think the problem is just coincidental to the lamp replacement.

i would say there is grease or food debris on the turntable support or turntable motor coupler.

The service manual is here and you can order parts from the Pros here.

Arcing from the metal plate on the right side of the oven when anything solid is place in it - such as frozen foods or a cold stick of oleo or frozen biscuit. Goes off when I open the door.

That metal plate is probably the waveguide cover. It is made of Mica and must be kept clean otherwise it will arc and burn. The reason it arcs more when solid/frozen food are placed in the oven is because solid/frozen foods do not absorb as much energy as wet foods.
Replace it if it is burnt.

Sparkscome from food (no metal involved) and heating VERY quickly!

Arcing in or above oven chamberThere is often a simple cause:

  • Arcing in the oven chamber with a normal load (a cup of water, for example), often just indicates that a thorough cleaning of the oven chamber is needed, particularly around and inside/above the waveguide cover. Any food that gets trapped here will eventually burn and carbonize resulting in a focal point for further arcing. Usually, the waveguide cover is designed to be removable without taking the (cabinet) cover off of the oven. However, burnt food and carbon often make this difficult so that some disassembly will be required. See the sections: "SAFETY" and "Getting inside a microwave oven".
for more information see "Arcing in or above oven chamber" section of online Microwave Repair Manual.
If the microwave is clean, please post a reply and I will look at it again (this time include a model # and/or approx manufacture date)

There's no high voltage ,thus no magnetron activity

check the ceramic fuse in the primary circuitry as it probably blew out when the primary connection arced and burned through

Splashes inside waveguide?

Quite often this is due to grease or food particles stuck to the inside of the oven or stuck on or behind the waveguide cover.

The waveguide cover is usually about the size of a playing card and often held in place by a plastic rivet.

In some models it is the plastic ceiling.

It can be fragile, and the metal edges of the oven behind it can be sharp, so be careful!

The cover and the metal behind it should be cleaned with a mild, non-ammonia cleaner.

If the cavity metal of the oven is chipped or charred, it will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

If your waveguide cover is burned, it will need to be replaced.

If you need more specific help, please reply back with your brand and full model number.
