SOURCE: Welding Question

The plasma also cuts ferrous and non-ferrous metals much faster than an Oxy-Fuel torch or abrasive saws, with low or no heat affected zone, especially on thinner metals. A clean cut with little or no dross means less time and money is required to finish the work piece. Parts are virtually weld-ready

SOURCE: miller bobcat 225g plus welding problem

If the idle is not working, then it is either you idle solenoid attached to the carberator or your idle board is bad. If you apply 12Vdc to the idle solenoid is should move, if not then the solenoid is shot, no good. If it works then you idle board is bad. Also, check to see if you are 60Hertz by measuring at the outlet with a frequency meter. I recommend a Fluke meter. You should have 120Vac and 60HZ at the outlet. If the frequency is low then your engine speed needs to be increased. The idle solenoid could be causing all these problems.

the tech is probably pretty close to the cost of board, but you may have moisture in air that still wont take out the p.c..you have a warrenty on the unit,go to your local welding store and request a new one if refussed tell them you want to talk to the miller salesman which they should have no problem to set up.if not call miller direct in appleton wisc.they are good people.

My 225 miller bobcat welder will not do nothing the battery is new the starter is good I got it tested all it does is click

The presence of a click (if it is the starter clicking) should indicate no fault in the starter switch, etc.

New battery (fully charged?) and a good starter motor - if the current could reach the starter the engine would have to crank, assuming there is nothing wrong with the engine or generator preventing the engine from turning.

Try rotating the engine by hand to ensure it isn't locked and test the battery and starter by energising the starter solenoid manually. Engine should crank.

If the engine doesn't crank the high current supply or battery/engine ground is suspect.

Miller bobcat 225 welder will run and arc but will not weld

First thing I would check is a good ground. This is very important. Your ground should always be to clean metal. Metal that is being welded should also be clean. Good Luck Friend.

Why miller bobcat 250 runs great and generator works but wont weld fuses are good ?

If your Miller Bobcat 250 runs great, the generator works, but the welder will not weld, even though the fuses are good, it could be caused by a few different things. Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Check the welding settings, make sure they are appropriate for the type of welding you are doing. Make sure the voltage and amperage are set correctly.
  2. Check the ground connection, make sure it's clean and tight. The ground connection must be secure for stable welding.
  3. Inspect the welding cables and make sure they are in good condition and that the connections are tight.
  4. Check the welding gun and make sure it's clean and in good condition.
  5. Check the main contactor and make sure it's engaging and disconnecting properly.
  6. Check the main circuit breaker and make sure it's not tripped.
  7. Check the power output of the generator and make sure it's within the correct range.
  8. Check the control circuit and make sure that it's not damaged or malfunctioning.
It's important to check the manual of the welder for troubleshoot steps and also check the warranty of the welder and see if it's still covered by the manufacturer. If you are not able to find the problem or if you are not familiar with welding equipment, it's best to take your welder to a qualified Miller Electric welder repair service center, they will be able to diagnose and fix the issue.

I have a 250 bobcat that stick welds just fine but when you go to wire feed and plug in suitcase box wire feed unit wire feeds but it doesn't get hot enough to melt the wire. LF299725

What model of suitcase? Could be the contactor in the suitcase, could be the mig gun. Are you using the CV setting on the Bobcat, instead of CC? Is the Bobcat on the high CV setting and the dial most of the way?

Why is my bobcat 225 not welding hot enough?

Not knowing the full story, i would suggest, as a start, to set the WFS to No5 then set the Volts to No4. try this setting, Test the welding if still to low increase the voltage to No 5, check if it makes a difference, make voltage to No6, by turning up the voltage, you should see weld becoming hotter. let me know how you get on please
