I just bought a brand new Brother XL 2600I and it was working great for the first day , next morning i change the thread to actually sew not just test strips . I keep getting bunches of thread or if i

Most likely your top thread is not threaded correctly. Unthread and rethread. Check with your manual to make sure you have threaded correctly. Thread bunching up on bottom indicates top thread is threaded wrongly.

How do I find out why my sewing machine isn't sewing right?

We can sew about 2 to 4 inches then the thread that goes through the needle snaps off & when you examine the back of the material the bottom stitch is loose. What is wrong?

The thread keeps breaking and i lost the manuel for brother xl 5130

try rethreading machine
thread tension is to tight -try 3-5-see if that works better
change needles
thread might be caught around spool pin -tension dial
needle & thread may not be compatable-try this & see if it works for you
Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

Thread keeps breaking

go to www.brother-usa.com and download your manual for free, it will have a troubleshooting guide to tell you what to do. Some ideas are that it is not threaded right, tangled thread or wrong needle for the fabric you are using. I am sure there will be the answer in your manual.

Top thread keeps breaking

Check your threading path with your manual. If, you look up your manual online at brother.com it can be made larger and you may spot your mistake easier.

I am trying to sew and the thread keeps clumping up at the bottom.

Hello,
Try these solutions.

* Re-thread your machine as it may be threaded incorrectly.

* Raise your feed dogs If your machine has this feature.

* When you start to sew a seam, hold the upper and bobbin thread tails back and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting caught in your machine.

I hope this helps.

Feed the thread thru one of the holes (the hole that will be on top) going from the middle of the bobbin thru to top. pull up about 2 inches, push the bobbin over to start winding and before pressing the foot, hold the 2inch piece sticking up. HOLD TIGHT. after the thread is wound about 25 times, stop winding and snip the 2inch piece level with the top of the bobbin. Finish winding.

Two Stitch Hang-up

youch!  how frustrating.  It sounds like there is a piece of thread caught in or around the bobbin casing.  take the whole casing out and clean with your brush.
I feel your pain, hope this helps.  If not, please come back and we'll try some other things.
