Question about JVC Televison & Video

1 Answer

I moved my entertainment system and after plugging everything back in, my JVC XL-F215 CD changer is having issues with the volume. I have it connected to a Pioneer VSX-515 receiver and I have to have

I have tried different channels on the pioneer receiver, but I have the same issue regardless of where I plug it in on the back. All the other components plugged into the receiver work great (DVD player, VCR, satellite dish).

So what is the issue with the volume? Is it too loud? Can't hear it? Does it go up and down?? Might try a different cable or check where you're plugged in on the CD player. Is there a mute or other output setting for CD player that may have gotten pressed?

The volume is too soft. I have to crank it way up to barely hear it. I have tried different channels on the receiver and I have tried using different audio cords. We have checked the mute on both the CD player and receiver. Based on trial and error we think it's something with the CD player. All other components plugged into the receiver have normal volume.

Everything was working fine until we moved the entertainment center and had to unplug/replug everything.

SOURCE: I got a remote control

Do you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch? If so try i-Got-Control and the IRB1 attachment. It has codes for the Star Choice built in and if you need others, you can always learn from the other remote you have. This will put all the remotes (including your TV and DVD player) into the same iPhone (or other iOS device). www.i-got-it.com

SOURCE: Connect VCR to HDTV

If there is an extra AV connection just use that. Now note that VCRs have inferior picture quality compared to DVD. No matter what you do you will never get the crisp picture you get from a DVD. In fact I don't even use vcr anymore because they are outdated. Since you have an HDV it would be a great idea to enjoy blu ray on in it as well. Blu ray palyer are getting cheaper now.

It's not compatible with the Phillips DVD player. We had the same problem with our old DVD player, something about reading it.

You connect it to the amp as either a CD or "Other" device. Hooking it to the speakers would produce no sound.

Jvc xl-f254 cd changer for home. 5 disc changer. Carousel will not slide out. makes humming noise, possibly trying to open.

Take the cover off and inspect for a jammed disc.

If there are no jammed discs you either have a broken belt or stripped gear.

You will have to take the unit apart and inspect, belts are commercially available from electronic stores and are a cheap easy fix!

Let me know if you need more details or guidance.

Cheers!
