Question about Washing Machines
Cleaned the filtering/excess-build-up collector and then ran a cycle -without content - hot and with baking soda instead of the regular laundry detergent I use by Ecover. The cycle again left the machine full of these confetti-like brown pieces --- From Steve in Jerusalem Re some others I see here have asked similar or same question: the caked-up drum rim does not apply at all. Re cleaning the fabric softener dispenser - first, I never use softener. Second, I am regularly cleaning the dispenser - all three dispensers --- I keep the whole machine very clean ---

Squeee, It's been more than a year since you posted this so I guess you must know the answer. It sounds like a Visit from an engineer(?) I've got exactly the same problem with a Servis Easilogic 1500 and would appreciate knowing what you had to do to resolve the issue.

I have this problem as well.. All washing machines manufactured nowadays are energy effficient, which means that they don't use as much water as the older models. This can result in a build-up of bacteria in the top part of the washing machine, which is clogging up the bit where the water comes through to flush the fabric conditioner into the drum. What I have to do every so often, is to take the top off the washing machine and clean out the layer of black slime that has built up, blocking the holes where the water goes into the washing machine. Another contributory factor is that the usual program used is a 40 degree wash, which is not hot enough to completely flush the machine through. Manufacturers recommend running a 90 degree wash once a month with just washing powder in iit, no clothes. Hope this is some help

Yes you will need a service call, you may have a issue with the water valve or control, At the start of the cycle it should not be filling the softener dispenser till later in the program.

SOURCE: Fabric softener won't dispense
Have you tried thinning the softener with water? It's what I used to do on my older washer, it wasn't the new Duet, but it seemed to help. Hope that helps. (PS I don't use softener anymore as I have developed a terrible skin allergy to these newer longer scented softeners! )

SOURCE: I have a Bosch Nexxt
Could be the fine holes in upper dispenser are blocked. Remove soap dispenser drawer and use a washing up brush to clean upper dispenser, replace drawer & test. If not could be upper dispenser or inlet valve.
