Not a good idea to unplug anything while it is still running unless it's an emergency of sorts. You should be able to stop it using the controls. Many of today's appliances use sensitive digital controls.
Check the manual to see if there is a RESET procedure.
Or call/write the manufacturer from their website.

It'll work listening to the radio just fine for about 5 minutes, then the sound goes away.

If you are running at high volume for even a short period of time, the overload signal to the microprocessor(computer within your unit) will cause the unit to shut down. If you are running it that loud, try turning the level to 1/3 of your normal listening mode. If it runs, try to keep the volume with reason.

My Frigidaire gallery front loader series model GLTF2940FSO stopped working during quick load - water still in machine, started making buzzing/humming sound but wouldn't drain or finish cyle. Unplugg

Sounds like a bad start capacitor in your drive motor. Not expensive to fix, but you have to know what you're doing. If you're not handy at that sort of thing, I'd suggest a handyman who fixes washers.

I have a Crate CR212 it started to hum/buzz today. It would not play out any sounds other than the noise. I unplugged everything and still it hummed. I unplugged the unit, check the fuse and replugged and...

Are all the tubes lighting up? they should glow like dim light bulbs. If not, replace them with the same model type (12ax7, or EL34 for example).

Often there are two fuses, one to protect the speaker and another to protect everything, it sounds like the latter fuse may be burned out. take it out and take it to radio Shack for exact replacement.

Passport Essential SE does not always start when computer boots up.

Sounds like your Passport is going bad. Try a different usb port.

Try plugging it on another computer and see what happens.

It's definitely going bad based on what you're describing.

Not working

It sounds like 2 separate problems:

1) One of the cooktop lights may have shorted. Sometimes this happens and causes damage (repairable) to the control circuit board. Sometimes it will result in the lights or fan not working, or not turning on.

2) You may have a bad magnetron. See this FixYa solution.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

Yamaha ef1000is was rained on, starts and runs after unplugging wire plug from generator, runs when replugged, but no electrical output

Sounds like the rectifier got fried. Moisture in these units is a dangerous thing. Even if you feel the unit sat long enough to dry ouit, it sometines will hold moisture in the electrical componants.

Dryer will not start when I push the start button. You can hear the sound of the dryer wanting to turn on but it does not. I have already tried to unplug and replug.

If the motor is trying to start only when you have your finger on the start button but won't continue to run, the run coils in the motor might be bad. If it just buzzes (hums) when you try to start it, the start/run switch in the motor might be bad, or the starter windings might have an open. Either way, it sounds like the motor might need servicing.

Plasmaa tv not going

Try using a ground isolator. You can buy them at radio shack, or your local hardware store for under 10 bucks. this item has three holes on one side and two posts on the other. it takes the ground out of the tv. We call those a scrolling line or a hum. Can be caused by incorrect wiring in the tv or the wires that run to the tv, could be running with electrical lines or an hvac unit. try this solution if it doesnt work then go to the altrenative which is sending the unit out for repair.
