Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I have just purchased a ipod touch 5th gen and I have got a lightning adapter so I can connect it to my old hi-fi dock and it says nothing is connected.
It's most likely that the power rating from your hifi dock is not enough for the 5g and that it is not supported on this hifi.

Read the article (it's short). Don't buy into the hype about better cables. IPOD's don't stack up as hi-fi to begin with and cables are cables are cables....
