Question about BenQ Projector Lamp for MX760 MX761 MX812ST
I'm sure the lamp is okay as I have tried it in another MX761. Its difficult to get it to start up after power-up. I do this by holding down the mode enter button.
Many LED TVs and other electronics have bad capacitors on their power supply boards. You can visually inspect them by opening the TV and looking for capacitors with bulging tops. If you see any, replace them all in the power board section. Check to see if your TV is still under warranty first though.

Testimonial: "Thanks for your reply, I have got to the root of the problem since i posted my initial query and established the following:- Initially i found it difficult to establish if it was a hardware or software problem but on further investigation on the hardware side I found a fault in the ballast circuit which drives the lamp so in summary the ballast circuit was able to fire up the lamp but wasn't able to hold it so the lamp cut out after two minutes. Thank you John"
