How to I tell if the tension is correct on a Arien zero turn belt?

One side of belt seem to be looser than the other. when I press on right side belt (if I am sitting on mower its my right) it only will press 1/4 inch. But the left one presses in about 1 inch. Is the correct tension on belt?

Most modern lawn mowers including ZTRs all using an automatic belt tension system; ie spring load idler pulleys. The only time you need to check the belt is when your are having problem and most time the belt will need replacing due wear or physical damage.

SOURCE: drive belt

You may find that you have the wrong belt - I bought a belt for the correct model and then found that there are two different sizes depending on the exact model - they are 3 inches different in length for my model CTH160 113" and 110". Got correct belt and fits properly now.

SOURCE: i have a zero turn, liquid cooled exmark mower

Lift the seat up and look for (rods) that run from the pump to the control sticks. There is a jam nut on these treaded rods, one for each hydro unit, use a marker and mark the position of the jam nut on the rod on the slow side, left you said. loosen the jam nut and turn the treaded rod a couple of turns one direction, then try the mower and see if it is faster on that side or slower, if it is slower then turn the treaded rod the oppisite direction that you just turned, If it is faster then it was before then adjust the rod till it is the same speed as the other side is. Tighten jam nut.

I replaced the drive belt I know it is on right, But now it will not move in 2nd gear and up, Only 1st, And to make it goes faster you have to press in on the break and clutch

Not knowing the model of the tractor makes this a little tough so here is a more generic response. Are you absolutely sure you have the right belt? I've occasionally gotten a slightly different belt (like when trying out kevlar or when matching up by length and not getting the width quite right). I would roll the machine up on blocks, have someone help you in the driver's seat and crawl under to see what it's doing (engine off is a good idea). Grab the belt and feel for slack all the way through the clutch travel and see if you can tell why a slightly depressed clutch might give more tension. Also (and this did happen to me once with a looser belt) look to see if the idler on the clutch arm is moving too far and binding the back of the belt into something else there.

When I get on treadmill it slows down andjust about shuts off. Im 265 pds, My wife gets on @ 160 pds the treadmill runs fine. I ADJUSTED THE BELT LOOSER AND IT STILL RUNS THE SAME. WHAT CAN I DO TO CORRECT...

Loose is not the answer. Proper lubrication and correct tension adjustment is the answer. I don't know how many HP the motor is for, but for 265 pds it should be at least 3HP.
Put the speed at about 3MpH and while walking, make a small jump on the belt to ensure that it is properly tensioned. Needless to say that the belt must be well lubricated. If you see that the belt tends to stop when you make the jump, turn both allen screws exactly the same amount clockwise. Half a turn might be enough. When you're satisfied and the belt doesn't seem to stop, give both allen screws another half turn clockwise.
All that as long as the treadmill is capable of handling your weight.

Craftsman 315.117150. The belt keeps sliding off, as soon as turned on and start to sand. It seems to be on correctly.

You need to adjust the tracking knob which is by the front handle that looks like a triangle head screw. Make sure the belt tension leaver is tight and the belt has enough tension on it. Quickly press and release the start switch and note the centering of the belt. It should be in the center of the bottom platen. If it is not, adjust the tracking knob and bump the switch again. If the belt is going in the wrong direction turn the knob the other direction. Once you are close the center of the platen, press the power switch to turn the unit on and lock the trigger. Firmly hold the unit vertically from the front handle. Fine adjust the tension knob to center the belt and make sure the belt is not hitting the case which will cause damage. You should be able to use the belt sander without the belt slipping off. Let the sander do the work, do not push down and limit the side to side motion. If the belt will not stay on then the belt is too large or the torsion spring needs to be adjusted to applying more tension on the belt and drive roller.

Walking belt on NordicTrack C1900 is to loose, how do I tighten it? When walking on it when u get to level 4 it just about throws u

Tighten the rear roller bolts evenly with the unit off. The correct tension is when you firmly lift up on the right and left edges in the middle of the walking belt and get 2-3 inches gap above the walking board. If one side is looser than the other, the walking belt may wander sideways. Turn the rear roller screw on the side that it shifted to in a clockwise manner(1/2 turn at a time). Test on a low speed and adjust as needed. (you may manually recenter the walking belt with your foot if it shifted too far to one side and is rubbing on the plastic edges.) You likely have a worn motor belt that needs changing or even a pulley on the front roller that is slipping and needs replacing. They all cause slippage.

How do i get into the dryer to change the belt GE dde6500galwh

There are probably 2 screws on the back towards the top of the machine, on the left and right sides of the machine. unscrew those then take a flat-head screw driver and pry the front of the top of the machine off on each side there is a clip holding it...

there is also a access door in the back of the dryer somewhere, that will likely expose the motor and belt tensioner/spring. release tension and belt should come looser.

I am trying to repair the slippage on my Proform Crosswalk Caliber II belt. How do you adjust the belt and please provide detailed directions. Thanks so much Pau;

Most treads have two bolts on the rear roller. To tighten turns these bolts clockwise. Depending on how bad the problem is, I usually turn a 1/4 turn at a time. Walk on the machine to check tension. Once tension is correct turn right side bolt or left side bolt to center belt. Remember belt will travel to side with least resistance. ie.. if you want the belt to go to the left- tighten the right side(clockwise) Centering the belt is easier with machine running at about 2-2.5 if belt is not rubbing on the sides.

Can't get thread tension right on my Euro-Pro 7130

the top seam is actually the bobbin thread. dots on the underside means that the top tension is too tight. you may have a piece of thread or something gummy caught between the upper tension disks.
