This is domestic water pump with expansion tank ?
If so the problem is probably the pressure switch that seize or the inside spring or mecanism is defective. Try cutting power source first and most of the time there is access to internal mecanism thru electric connection, try with screwdriver to simulate high pressure ( pry under pressure mecanism and release ) It should click the contact doing this, if not try to find any debris or broken spring. If everything seems ok, while power off, release pressurer from any tap in the house, disconnect hose on pressurestat, start supply pump few second and make shure hose to pressurestat is not block, use a piece of clothing on end of small hose to prevent everywhere spilling, maybe have someone else at breaker to shut back quickly...Cannot find anything change the pressure controls ( pressurestat )

Pumps water for a minute then shuts off.

Probably the pump has a water pressure protection switch. So it will not run dry and burn up. How is it that you are losing water pressure? On the delivery end or receiving. Restrictions on a pump always are placed output

Not enough water VOLUME and pressure to supply the pump with a steady flow of water. Water is cavatating (adding air to the water) and the piston is heating up and jambing. Try using a larger size hose diameter and a shorter hose to supply the pump.

Pump belt runs constantly instead of shutting off when I turn faucets off. My model is 36950-2000. Water pressure is about half it was yesterday too.

If pressure is low, the pump will not shut off.
Is there a leak somewhere inside or outside?
You have to determine why the pressure is so low.

The wash water will not run out

Not sure what model you have but there are a few reasons water will not drain. Assuming your pump is not bad, try emptying your drain filter. You will need to access your washer's cabinet to do this. See if you have a drain filter located between the bottom of your tub and the pump motor. Some of these are usually pretty good size, around the size of a tennis ball. Important: See if there is a shut off valve between your tub and the filter, if so you will need to turn it off prior to removing the filter. If not, you will need to hand bail any excess water from out of your washer tub. Once you remove the filter for cleaning, any water left in your tub will run out unless you have that shut-off turned to off. Clean the filter out thoroughly, put it back in and be sure to turn the shut-off back to the on position. If this is not the problem or your model does not have a filter, repost back here with your exact model number and I will trouble shoot further.

Pump was running with a snapped off hose.

you have to refill the pool then fill the pump with water to prime it before it will pump. There is a chance that the pump seal was damaged if it ran dry for too long, if the seal was damaged the pump will not build suction and will not pump.

I have a rule 1800 computerized pool cover pump. As soon as I plug it in, it runs a few seconds then shuts right off, WON"T keep running. (this is outside of the water, dry) any help?

That's a good thing. That pump uses resistance on the impeller to alert it to the presence of water. It will periodically start and run for a few seconds. If there is any water present, it will keep running, otherwise it will shut off until the next time it tries. Put it in water, and see if it works there.
