There should be snap levers on the sides or front of the unit. From there the top should pull up like the hood of a car. With the seals it may seam a little tough. Inside you will find the bag.

Remove the filter / bag from the compartment, close the cover and briefly turn on the vacuum - is there suction? If so, check that the bag isn't already full / or replace with a new bag. Make sure it the bag is not being pinched / caught under the cover.

If no suction, look closely at the edge of the filter / bag compartment opening of the vacuum. There should be a gasket that the cover presses against to help ensure a good seal. If this gasket is missing, cut, has an object lodged on it or is otherwise damaged - it may be preventing proper sealing of the door; allowing air to be pulled through the gap in the seal - and responsible for the loss of suction at the hose.

My electrolux vacuum cleaner?

Sometimes the bag isn't installed properly.
Try removing the bag and replace with a new one making sure that the bag is in the bag compartment squarely on all four corners thus covering the bag door switch. Close lid and try again.
Hope that helps!

The unit will run until you attach tge hose then it shuts off

Hi,
With a new bag in the compartment, Turn the dial on the top of the vacuum all the way in the opposite direction and try it again. If it still persists, the control valve that you're turning most likely needs cleaned or replaced. I can help with that.
Hope it helps. amerivac4u@yahoo.com

Cannot find filter in bag compartment

Hi,
If you're looking for the exhaust filter, it is on the top of the machine under the crevice tool and dusting brush.
If you look at the rear of the machine you will see a tab on the attachment holder.
Remove the attachments on the unit
Push tab on rear of vacuum on the attachment compartment
Lift cover and your exhaust filter should be exposed and should just pop right off for replacement.

Replacing the filters in a hoover mach 5

The filter is located under a cover directly under the bag in the bag compartment. That's the only one I can think of.

No suction

I wonder exactly where you've looked for blockages... The fact is that if the vacuum motor is working (you would surely have said if it wasn't) there should be suction. The question is: why isn't it getting to the end of the hose? First thing you can try is to remove the hose from the hole where it enters the top of the bag compartment - check for possible obstruction at that point, then switch on and hold your hand over the hole to check for suction. If there's suction there, then there definitely is an obstruction in the hose. If there's no (or very little) suction at the top of the bag compartment, check the filter at the bottom of the bag compartment (below the bag). I assume you have been using a bag and filter! If all these things pass the test, then you have a serious problem with the vacuum turbine and you'll probably need professional help.
I hope this is useful. If so, please remember to rate my response. If you need more advice, post a reply here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Good luck!

Electrolux Model 2100 vacuum won't work

hi from uk may i suggest you remove cover and the new dust collection bag then if you look in the bag compartment there is a gauze filter fitted usually grey in colour ? at opposite end of compartment where bag connects this gauze filter is the outlet from bag compartment that the air exhales when vac is operating ie as vac **** up dust into bag the bag has microscopic holes that allow sucked up air and dust to collect but keeps dust from passing into bag chamber but allows air to escape thro holes and so enter bag chamber then escapes via the gauze filter to outside of vac hope you follow this ?? now if this filter is blocked/never been cleaned/changed ? then the symptoms of indicator bag full light will come on you can remove and wash filter if it is gauze typ? dry and refit then try vacuuming ? or replace filter they are not expensive usually in pack of 3 in uk DO NOT RUN VAC WITHOUT THIS FILTER FITTED ! or you will have some dust in the room ? hope this helps?

I have mislaid the instructions. How do I separate the top from the bottom to check for a clog.  Sebo Automatic x 4 extra 1300 w

To separate the base from the bag compartment: press the button at bottom front centre of bag compartment and lift bag compartment upwards away from base. Sometimes this is quite stiff and four hands would be useful, you can lever it from behind with something relatively soft (the plastic handle of a dishwash brush works well) but take care to lift vertically upwards, not sideways or you risk bending a metal lever that's hard to get back into shape again. Rest assured that once you've pressed that button there is nothing holding the two parts together other than friction!
The vacuum tubes are very obvious, and sometimes there can be a blockage in the one to the rear (without the little criss-cross sieve in it.  You should also look up the tubes that go in to the bag compartment.  Remember also that there's an inspection flap on the underside of the base.
I hope this helps.  If not, please post again and I'll try again.  I value your feedback, so please remember to rate this response.  Thank you.
