If you can get an other cabinet, suitable to its chassis, you can.

This is a loss of the "pincushion correction" circuit. These sets are known for bad high voltage capacitors in the horizontal circuit that cause a loss of pincushion correction. It could also be loose solder connections in the horizontal circuit. This can be a dangerous circuit to work with. Have a shop check it for you. Thanks for using fixya.

I need a under cabinet mount

The VE1020 didn't come with a mount. It came with round plastic spacers (16) that were 1/4", 1/2", and 3/4" thick. You could stack these on the mounting screws to get the clearance you needed for under the cabinet mounting. You will note that there are 4 through holes for the mounting screws, one in each corner of the chassis. Sheet rock screws of different lengths will work. You can easily just cut four small blocks of wood or use 3/4" - 1" wood dowel cut to the length you need. Drill a through hole in the dowel. Paint them to match if they will be exposed.

TV will not come on either with remote, or manual power button. Power button flashes twice & goes out.

The tv is gone into protection mode, try this, unplug it and wait a full 4 hours, then try it again. This may clear the protection fault......hope this helps....

How to remove 1990 xj6 radio

You must open the center console lid and remove the 2 Phillips head screws above the fuse station to expose the ashtray Phillips head screws.Remove the ashtray screws and carefully pull he ashtray back towards the center console. After the ashtray is removed take your hand an feel under the wood grain unit for the 2 plastic wing nuts holding the wood grain in place. Remove them and gently lift the wood grain up and out of the way. Remove the 4 Phillips head screws holding the AC controls and Radio bracket. Place the gear shifter in drive to pull the whole unit out. Sounds like a lot but takes about 10-15 mins to complete.

I have a 52 inch tv.When I turn it on it never powers up it shuts off. Its a humid room. Does this cause the problem?

without the model speculatiing is wider, older RCAs (brown cabinet) will do that when the high voltage splitter is bad, suprisingly its only a $50 part easy to install, or possibly bad conncetions on the main CBA (PTK169 chassis). the newer gray cabinet sets can have many issues .
from splitters, convergence ICs, power board HV shutdown issues.
post the full model and chassis to get a more specific answer to your set

Im trying to remove the factory radio and install a new one

First you need to gently pry off the wood grain cover around the gear shift. Then you'll see the the two screws on either side at the bottom holding the faceplate around the radio. These should be the only two screws. Before I discovered this, I had tried to pry it off starting at the top. I found it was held on by plastic clips until I got to the very bottom, and said WTF? Then I found a picture, and said Oh duh :)

RCA G35831AT 35" TV

The G35831AT uses the CTC179 series chassis. When you touched the wires to the speaker jacks you probably somehow managed to short out the audio output IC, which would have sent up some smoke. When the set is turned on, the computer senses that the audio output IC is shorted and shuts the set down. The audio output IC should be replaced and all other circuits checked by a qualified tech familiar with the 179 chassis.
