Did you upgrade your firmware because you had a problem with the player to begin with? Or was it working fine all along?

If everything was working fine before the upgrade, I would revert the firmware back to its previous version.

SOURCE: USB firmware upgrade for bd-p1500

Do you use a Mac? I had this same trouble. I use a Apple computer, Mac OS X. The USB flash card I was using had been formatted for the MAC OS. I just used the disk utility to reformat the flash card for MS DOS. Then it worked ok.

SOURCE: require a firmware upgrade for bd-1500 blue-ray

go to the samsung website, and navigate to the BD-1500 page. You will see a support tab, which has your download on it. I would try the CD based download first.
Download the file, unzip it, and burn it onto a CD. Then, with the unit off, and unplugged, plug it in, open the drawer and insert the disk. Close the drawer and see if it will read the new files. If not, then try the same procedure on the USB option, though I have had less luck with that.

If you cannot get it from there, contact Samsung

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:
http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Display&contents=help_deadremote&uuid=A12963989782821
They also sell replacement remotes.

Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remote", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

Cannot get BluRay/DVD system to respond to remote commands. Only the Samsung TV will. I cannot figure out how to switch the remote into giving only BluRay/DVD functions. I've read this unit has a...

Yes, the reason for this is that the BD-Receiver/TV button was pressed twice. This button has 2 modes of operation depending on the color it flashes when you press any button on the remote. If the BD-Receiver/TV button flashes green then it is in TV mode and if it flashes orange then it is in BD Receiver mode. The way to switch between the 2 modes is simple but not intuitive and easily not noticed. Simply press the BD-Receiver/TV button it will light-up green or orange, depending on what mode it is in, for about 1 second. The trick is to quickly press it again BEFORE the light goes out. When this is done the color of the light will change. If it was green it will change to orange and vice versa. Rember, Orange = BD Receiver function Green = TV
Hope this solution has been helpful?

It is not responding to any commands, will not switch off, cannot play any music, will not load music. help

Based on the problem description, I can say that the program of your device is already corrupted, that's why it's not responding to any commands.

Firmware upgrade will resolve this problem. You need to contact the manufacturer and have them upgrade the firmware of your device.

NOTE: Bare in mind that all files or songs that are saved in it will be erased. If your computer can detect the device once you connect it, I would suggest to back up the files.

Good luck!

There arethree possibilities that cause this symptom.
