How do I get the top off my White Knight CL447WV Tumble Drier?

How do I get the top off my White Knight CL447WV Tumble Drier? I thought you just had to remove the four screws at the top back, and it would slide back and off. I seems that it might be somehow fixed to the plastic moulding on the top front, and I'm scared to pull hard in case I break something.

In reality, most of these aged appliances take quite some amount of force to get apart after they have been together for years. The model you listed is accessed from the top after the lid is removed for many repairs.

Testimonial: "It's only a couple of years old; there's a squeak, and I wanted to sort it out. I've tried getting tough with it, but no joy."

If you go to a local parts house, they will be more than likely helpful with your particular model. If you ask about a roller or bearing availability, they have exploded diagrams and repair instructions they may give you freely as part of their service commitment with the manufacturer. In this regard, some shops are more giving than others, and it doesn't hurt to shop around. The more helpful dealers tend to stay in business longer, developing a loyal customer base due to their service.

If the rug was very heavy you could have burnt up the motor. If it will restart after it cools off, replace the motor and clean out the vent system.

Good luck.

SOURCE: How do you remove top from a Hotpoint CTD80 tumble

2 screws at the back and then push the top towards the back of the machine...you might need to give it a bit of a wack, if it's too tight just take the 3 screws from the back of the side panels and things will loosen up a little

HOW DO I CHANGE THE BELT ON A WHITE KNIGHT CL447WV - DO I REMOVE ALL OF THE SCREWS ON THE BACK + IS THERE AN EASY WAY TO GET THE BELT ON?

You must pop off the top of the dryer then remove the front after the front is off you can get to the drum. The belt goes around the drum and the motor pulley and under the tensor wheel after you get belt on replace front and top since you do have the back apart you can do it this way:

Remove the back -lots of screws- to allow access the drum. Then tip the machine on its face and unscrew the access panel that lets you get to the drive wheel. After feeding the belt around the drum from the top, reach into the access panel and pulled the belt over the pulley wheel

Which is easiest, the choice is yours as they are about the same either way. Hope this helped Tim
