On rare occasions, this might happen I too did felt it many times. Remove this program by entering the Add/Remove programs at the control panel, and re-install it after re-starting the system. Will come alright. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Picasa no longer recognizing Nikon Coolpix L5

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Picasa or any other photo cataloging program.

When i open picasa i get an error like Runtime Error! program:c\program files\google\picasa3\picasa.exe R6002 floting point support not loaded please help me about it

Here is the problem and the (weak) solution:

You install picasa 3 and run it. It works.
Than you close it and start again (or restart computer) and you receive the error:
R6002 floting point support not loaded
I've uninstalled picasa 3, cleaned my registry with CCleaner, downloaded the picasa 2 and it worked.
Maybe it will work without cleaning the registry.

I use windows XP SP2. To fix the problem I've also tried upgrading to SP3, but it didn't work.
I think it has something to do with hardware, because I have installed the same copy of windows on 2 computers and picasa 3 works on one of them.

I tried using my HP Photosmart 318 photo imaging software for windows, but it is good only up to XP. I now have a Vista. What is my next step to be able to use my HP 318 on my Microsoft Vista? Thanks.

As a work-around, you should try using Picasa to download the pictures off of your camera.

Picasa is a free download from Google and has many cutting-edge features for picture management. I think that you'll like it.
  • Download Picasa from their web site (click here) to your Desktop
  • Once the Picasa file has completed downloading, Open the file and follow the directions displayed.
  • Once you have Picasa installed, connect your Olympus camera. Picasa will recognize that you have connected the camera and ask you how you want to proceed.
  • Have Picasa copy the images from your camera
  • You can then use Picasa to handle the photos from your camera.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I am not able to view pics on PC when i transfer pics from camera to PC

I suggest that you install a photo management program like Picasa from Google.
Picasa will allow you to not only view the pictures, but will help you organize and share them as well.
Picasa is free and available in a Windows and Mac version.

To use Picasa, (click here) to go to the download site.
  • At the download site, click the "Download Picasa..." button and select "Open" in the download dialog box.
  • After Picasa has been downloaded to your machine and opened, follow the on-screen directions until Picasa is installed.
  • After installation, start up the Picasa program and allow it to search your computer for pictures.
  • After a few minutes, it will find all of your pictures including the one that you transferred from your camera.
  • You will then be able to arrange and view your pictures as you like.

Hi. i have a maxtor basics 1.5tb. besides the well known on/off problem with this drive, it has suddenly "lost" all my pics. So when i click on the folder, it shows it empty. When i open Picasa, i can...

What has happened is that the default program for looking at your pics is either not working or not being turned on when you click on the pics. But when you click on Picasa and activate that program the pictures are seen.
It is not the drive - you have a software issue. Ugh. Try installing VLC media player software. It works with everything - see what happens.

if you don't have software or cable the printer device will show up as new drive :\ E...,
if not you could use other programs like picasa viewer to transfer images,

Importing movie onto PC with Vista

I think you should install a software program that has the capability of opening mov file. This would become a plug-in for other programs and enable them to interpret it as mov file. or click on your movie file from camera and change its properties to be opened by a certain software that can open mov file and use it as the default program to open that file.
