I bought this tv, now the picture is good for blu rays and my xbox etc. But it says 'DAVE' in really faint ...
Frank: Verizon. com says try this: Change your VCR's Channel to 3 or 4. Most blue screen issues are caused by the VCR not being set to Channel 3 or 4. If changing the VCR's channel (using the channel buttons on the VCR or from the VCR remote control) did not change your TV screen, go to step 2.
Make sure your TV is not in Video mode. There are three possible ways to change your TV's mode using your TV remote control: 1) Press a Mode button, toggle through the options and select TV, 2) Press a Video button to change your TV's mode from Video to TV or 3) Press Menu, locate Mode or Audio/Video setup and select TV from one of the options. If you are not sure how to change your TV's mode, see your TV's user guide for more information.
Check to make sure your set-top box is plugged in and turned on.
Check to see if other TVs (connected to different outlets) have a blue screen. If they do, contact the Verizon Fiber Solutions Center.
- COMPONENT (red blue green for video, red and white for audio
- COMPOSITE (yellow for video, red and white for audio)
- HDMI
So, if your TV is on a "Channel", it is not on the correct input to view the Xbox 360.
Check the Xbox and verify which cables it is using to connect to the TV. When you find this, follow the cable to the back of the TV and find the input selection. It should be listed as the type and a number (i.e. HDMI 2, COMPONENT 1).
Have the Xbox on. Use the TV remote and use either the INPUT or the MENU options to change the input to the input that matches the port that the Xbox is connected to.
This should make the Xbox work.
When you are done with the Xbox, use the INPUT or MENU to change back to the tuner to watch TV.
It depends on what type of Video connector you have with the Xbox, if you have Yellow white and red then it would go into the video input and put your TV in Video mode., If you have Blue red and green, it is use for component input, and you put your TV in component mode,,(HD)
Now this can be caused by one of two things,
1. The settings on you TV are not set up correctly, Depending on your TV, the audio settings in the menu may have an option for "equalizer" or "sound mode" your best bet would be to have a play around with these settings whilst playing constant music etc.
2. The connection between your xbox and your TV are not propally connected, remove the cabling and blow any dust away and reinsert the cables.
One way you can test whether its your xbox or yout TV, could be to try the console on another television setup.
Good Luck!!
Is the TV an High Definition TV? If it's not an HDMI compatible tv them you will need a regular audio video cable for your XBOX 360 you cn get them all day on ebay or at any store.
On the TV you should have a video, input or mode button. If you press that button while the 360 is on it should pickup the signal. You need to be in video mode instead of cable mode since you are using the red, yellow, white cables. Many TVs have a few video modes so press it wait a few seconds and try again if it does not work. Hope this helps:)
