Question about Samsung Cell Phones

1 Answer

I have a Samsung SCH-I589. I get the problem "Internal Memory full". (1) Is there any way to remove some of the originally installed apps, which are not used at all by me, but occupy memory? (2) Is there a method or setting to make the data of whatsUp, Memo, calendar etc to reside on the SD card instead of the limited internal memory?

Jnb_prasad,

Your best bet in this case is to go directly to Samsung support. If you just bought your phone, the chat support should be free under warranty.

Please let me know how they resolve is so I can better answer people with this question later. I added two links for reference as well.

Testimonial: "The internal memory is only 152 MB and out of which about 50 MB is already taken by the basic apps already installed in factory setting. Just a few other apps may be about 7 or 8 common apps will take up the rest of the memory. Then data such as email, contact details, calendar entries, alarm etc are all stored in the internal memory. All these cannot be transferred to the SD Card. The Samsung support does not help to resolve this problem and suggest that you can go for a different model!!! There are a number of built in apps that I donot want to use and if I can set it up not to launch then memory can be saved. But there is no method given by the "Support". Deactivating some unwanted but factory installed apps can be "done after rooting the phone". This is done by some third parties without guarantee. Rooting appears to be risky. I am looking for a solution to release some internal memory or to enhance the internal memory or to transfer data which resides in internal memory to the SD Card. Many users of this series of phones appear to have faced this problem and there should be a solution. I looking for such solution. Can someone help?"

SOURCE: my nokia 7230 internal storage

The phone memory can be corrupt or there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up then it is confirmed that the software is corrupt and will need a reinstallation. Seeking help from the authorized service /support centre is most ideal. Take estimate and decide.

SOURCE: Cell Phone Calendar Out of Memory

Hi, the calender feature on your phone is stored on the phone memory, so adding a memory SD will not have any effect concerning the calender expect for features like musics, videos and pictures.
What you will have to do is to delete some unnecessary information you have on the phone memory to pave more space for the calender.

Take care

SOURCE: I am using samsung corby 2. can i install my games

You can't. There isn't a patch existing now that can do it. What you can do is store the installer (jar) in the memory card, then just install the apps when you need to use it, so you can just uninstall it to free up phone memory.

Although the Android phones and tablets can add (micro) SD cards, that will not extend the internal memory. You should see the SD card as a extra hard disk. As soon as you installed extra apps, and the phone is telling you the memory is full, you only can free memory, by deleting apps from the main memory.
If you thought I can buy a phone with less memory, because the SD cards are very cheap and will extend the internal memory, you made an error. New phones from Samsung now get more than 10 Gbyte of apps, you even can't remove. So only about 5 Gbyte is free to use for other apps and messages.
Next phone, take one with lots of internal memory, if you like to install other apps.

Texts not working on samsung galaxy y , storage data says full , even though it has been emptied,m no texts are coming in, also the option for moving apps to sd card is greyed out

Your phone can't use the mini SD card as internal memory. Your internal memory has to many apps, and to much data. (pictures, notes and messages) You should clear up the internal memory, by deleting apps and data. Most Samsung apps you can't delete. The modern phones already have apps, exceeding 10 Gb. So if you bought a 16 Gb phone only 5 Gb is left for you to use for apps. I'm sorry, but the SD cards should be seen as an external hard disk, not as internal memory.

Why is my Samsung Galaxy phone keep freezing up on me?

Could just be that you've let your memory get too filled up.

Check your Recent Apps. If the list is completely full, swipe stuff off to remove the apps from memory.

You may need to reboot your phone first to clear enough memory to fix the freezing issue.

If you keep your memory usage down, you should avoid system hang-up.

Samsung galaxy y duo s6102 internal memory full

Hii, there are two ways to increase internal memory of samsung galaxy y duos s6102. either you move each and every app to your sd card or you can also use some software, which are out on Google store, specially meant for increasing internal memory. but according to me, you must use Link2SD app. I have personally used this app on Galaxy y duos and seriously it works good. However, you may also take help from this interesting article: http://www.androidnectar.com/how-to-increase-internal-memory-of-samsung-galaxy-y-duos-gt-s6102/

My samsung sch-r631 is saying my phone memory is full even after taking out memery card and deleting everything from phone i cant send texts pictures or use apps now

Check settings for the SIM card. Sometimes data is stored on the SIM card rather than the memory card.
You can also change that setting to store data on the memory card before the SIM card.
