It means that you have a problem with the O2 sensor on bank 1. Likely it's come due to be replaced as it's getting "lazy", which is what happens to O2 sensor over time. It can also mean there is another problem that is causing it to set the code, but if the van has over 60k on it, it could be due for changing depending on the vehicle use, quality of gas uses, etc.

Bad Oxygen sensor. Needs to be replaced. Might as well replace both sensors, cheap and easy fix. Usually on the end of the exhaust header or just after. or both, if there is 2.

2000 buick century problems

DTC P0131 HO2S Circuit Low Voltage Sensor 1
The PCM supplies a bias voltage of about 450 mV between the HO2S signal and low circuits. When measured with a 10 megaohm DMM, this may display as low as 350 mV. The oxygen sensor varies the voltage within a range of about 1000 mV when the exhaust is rich, down through about 100 mV when exhaust is lean. The PCM constantly monitors the HO2S signal during closed loop operation and compensates for a rich or lean condition by decreasing or increasing injector pulse width as necessary. If the HO2S 1 voltage remains excessively low for an extended period of time, DTC P0131 will be set.

The battery died in my Odyssy and now it is asking for a code for the stereo system.

If you purchased your Odyssey when it was new, you should find a card (about the size of a credit card) in with all that paperwork. It gives the code on that card. You could also stop by your dealer, and they can reset it for you.

2002 Buick Lesabre codes P0131, P0171, and P1133.

Sounds like you just need to replace the one or two 02 sensors on bank 1.If you have over 100,000 miles the 02 sensos are realy to be replaced just as spark plugs and air filteres. If you wait to long to replace them you take a chance of them not comming out and then when they do go bad you will need to replace the exhaust as well.Hope this helps and good luck.

1. remove 2 bolts holding caliper on (either 12 or 14 mm)
2 remove 2 bolts holding caliper bracket (which holds the brake pads) (17mm)
3. remove the 2 phillips head bolt holding the rotor on
4 remove rotor, if rusted may need to tap it off
5 reverse procedure, when reinstalling caliper, may need to press piston back into caliper to get it to fit over new rotor
