Return to manufacturer or shop where you bought it and get a new set. The controller may need factory resetting but you don't have to put up with this and it is still under warranty.

I would use the warranty for this problem. The part that need to be replaced can be somewhat expensive.
With the credit card statement, you can use that as a receipt.

It's a common problem with the software in the TV. Updating the latest software for the TV should fix the problem. Here's a link for the Philips web site to get the software upgrade.

Normally, these remotes are programmable, I suspect that your remote lost it's programming maybe due to low battery condition. Look in your manual as how to reprogram your remote.
