Question about Mr Steam Butler Package 2, Square eTEMPO/Plus Control, Polished Chrome Finish,

1 Answer

Is the pig tail assembly on rear of the isteam control replaceable. Mine has a broken pin from the male connector inside and we cannot get it out. Thanks

The contractors bent one of the 8 pins on the male side of control cable, we straighten the pin, it went in the pig tail side, but is now broken off and we can't get the pin out. We bought a replacement cable that goes to the generator, but cannot connect because of the broken pin in the pigtail. thanks

If the pin is hollow (as all I've seen) try a wire with a hook on the end, a very small screw or possibly a small screwdriver to be able to pull the pin out of the socket.

Can not get spring in the kickback lever assembly

The return spring is not supposed to come out, however, remove the e clip and pull out the pin, the spring has a loop at the an arched leg and a leg with a pig tail. Press the arch leg and the pig tail leg together and push the loop up into the hand guard with the pig tail facing toward what would be the rear of the saw, push it up as far as it will go, push the pin back in and re fit the e clip, the arch leg of the spring should now be resting on the top of the pin if you have done ir correctly, and the tail of the pig tail should be protruding.

Both headlights on left side of 2007 pontiac G6 GT are out

It seems that many Pontiac G6 owners are experiencing this same problem. At first, it appears that a low-beam headlight has blown out, but upon careful inspection, you can determine that the integrity of one of the connectors to the bulb has been compromised and is is not conducting voltage across the connection, whereas the bulb is still good. When you look at the connector in question, you will see what looks like corrosion or burning around the inside of the connector pin (female end) and the pin on the headlight (male end). This is the result of a design flaw, as many, many G6 owners are having this same problem. This should have resulted in a manufacturer\'s recall, but so far, it has not. So, the least expensive repair is to replace just the connector that plugs into the back of the bulb. You can purchase a connector "pigtail" from a dealer for about $26.00 (It consists of the connector block with the pins and a short length of wire connected to each one. When you make the repair, you must cut the wires going the defective connector, and splice the wires from the new connector to the wires in the wiring harness. The best way to do this is to use insulated but splices with a crimp connector. You can find these in any hardware store, auto supply store, or even Radio Shack. Caution: Be sure to match the polarity of the connection (note the color of the wire going to each pin in the connector), and use the correct size of crimp connector matched to the gauge of the wire. Also, if you are reinstalling a good bulb that has a slightly burned or corroded pin, first clean both sides of the pin with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab, or rub the pin with some very fine steel wool. Tail light electrical connectors are fried, i need to replace the connectors cant find them online? help

Call your local junkyards to see if any of them have any Silhouettes in their inventory with tail lights still installed. If they do, remove the tail light that you need, disconnect the connector and examine the connector (both Male AND Female sides) to make sure it's not fried too. On mine, both the male and female pins connected to the green(Ground) wire in the vehicle harness that was corroded.

If it looks good, install the connector and cut the wiring on the vehicle side a foot back from the connector and remove the complete tail light assembly with the connector.

The Female connector is built into top of the Lamp Holder Assembly and since both pins are corroded, the Lamp Holder must be replaced at the same time as the harness side.

Cut the damaged part out of your car leaving enough of your harness to splice the wires together. I soldered mine and covered them each with shrink fit tubing at the joint then wrapped all the junctions with electrician's tape for protection and some water integrity??

By the way, the complete Tail Light Assembly cost me $40.00 and I wound up with a spare left lens!

Hope this helps.

• The electric contact between the connectors

99 silhouette.all bulbs are in working order.right (not left) signal flashes fast when headlights are on and even worse when brakes depressed(lights on or off).also lights on both rears are real strange on...

I had similar symptoms - rapid flashing of directional when headlights on and brake depressed when making a left turn, both directional indicators in dash light dimly when brake depressed, "Check Traction Control System" indicator On even with ATC turned Off and "strange" indications in tail lights.

Check the pins in the connector at the Lamp Holder Assembly for your Rt. Tail Light for arcing and corrosion. (The female pin is in the vehicle harness connector and the male is part of the Lamp Holder Assembly.) If found, because the male connector is part of the Lamp Holder Assembly, you'll have to replace the Lamp Holder Assembly and the harness section coming in from the vehicle containing the female connector.

I just repaired this problem in the left tail light on my '01 van with a part from a '99 van I found at a local salvage yard.

How do i change the rear tail light lens on my 2008 hyundai veracruz

Open the rear hatch. Using a small straight edge screwdriver, insert the screwdriver into the slot at the top of each of the two screwcovers on the inside lip of the tail light assemby and carefull pry open. Remove the two screws using a philips screwdriver. Drape a small cloth over the head of a larger straight edge screwdriver and insert at the tip of the tail light assembly (on the rear side of the car and carefully turn back and forth while wiggling the entire assembly. This will eventually allow you to work the tail light assembly loose from the grip pin that is holding the assembly on. Once removed, replace the appropriate bulb. With the assembly still not installed, have someone step on the brake to ensure the new bulb is working properly. Reinstall assembly. Hope this was helpful....I just changed mine.
