How are(which cable) you using to connect it with? Remember, in the audio menu for your TV, you must select external audio.

Just purchased a Panasonic sound bar and Samsung tv. The sound bar is hissing at low vol from one end. Should I return to the shop or is there a setting issue?

I would check your cable connections. If you are using an analog Red & White connection flip the red and white connections and see if the hissing sound changes to the other end of the sound bar. If it does then try new cables.
If you are using a 3.5 mm Stereo headphone plug then try a new cable and see if the hissing vanishes.

If the hissing doesn't change then take the soundbar back it is likely a defect in the internal wiring., either bad grounding or a short in the wiring.

Think you can set sound bar to play via Bluetooth .go into the settings of the tv and look for Bluetooth.when the sound bar is on make it discoverable and the tv will pick it up.if you don't have Bluetooth then check to see if there is an option switch in settings to use external speakers.check cable and also check volume on sound bar is not muted.also see if you can link the tv to sound bar via optical link cable as this is much better than RCA red/ white audios which tend to fail as people pull on the cable rather than the plugs when removing them from equipment.

Why is there no sound coming out of my goodmans 50w sound bar?

No. Red and white are left and right stereo sound. Yellow is for video. Do you have power to the sound bar? Are those red and white cables connected to audio OUTPUT on the TV? If they are connected to the audio INPUT to the TV, it won't work. You may need to connect the cable to a 'phones' jack on the TV. Can you connect the sound bar to another source (like an iPod or CD player)? That will test the sound bar itself.

You hooked up the sound bar to the cable box red & white sockets, right. Now you have the soundbar hooked up to the TV red and white sockets. Did you notice any difference with the labeling on the two sets of sockets? The cable box sockets were labeled "Audio Out", but the TV sockets are labeled "Audio In"

AV signals are directional. Any socket labeled "Out" will give a signal from it for connecting to another device e.g. the connection from the cable box to the soundbar.

Any socket labeled "In" is designed to accept a signal from something else, but it won't give a signal out. So you can't connect the TV's Audio In socket to the soundbar's Audio In socket because both expect a signal from something else and neither supply a signal out.

Check the back of the Proscan TV. Is there a socket labeled Audio Out? If so, use that.

I connected a speaker bar directly to my new LG TV. The speakers came with two audio cables ( red & white) and one video cable (yellow). I connected the red & white cables to both devices - red...

You can only get the television to recognize the external audio when connecting to its audio OUTPUT. If it does not say OUTPUT on the television where you've connected the red and white cables between it and the spear bar it is not going to work. You'll have to connect all your devices to the speaker bar with red and white cables and to the television with a yellow or green, blue, and red cable for video.

it sounds like you may be trying to plug a standard composit video cable (yellow) into a component video input (red, green, and blue)
these are actually two different connections. Most LCD tv's will have both options (sometimes there in weird different spots on the tv tho) if you don't have a standard RGB (red, white, and yellow composite video input) then you may need to purchase a component cable either at a local store or you can get one for $5 on Ebay
hope it helps!
~good luck!

I,ve connected my wii to the led tv using a wiii component cable(5 leads) but have used only 3 of them red green & blue 1,s leaving a red & white 1 left i have good picture but no sound help please

your cable is split into two different connections for your tv... the red green and blue cables are for HD only. They are their own little set. the yellow cable is your video cable for normal tv's. the red and white cables are sound cables, also for normal tv's. I would unplug the red, green, and blue cables, and use the yellow, red (right sound), and white (left sound).

Good luck!

This may be an impossible problem to solve..we just got a Hitachi 51m200 rear projection tv. it does not have an hdmi slot although the tv says it is dvi-hdtv and our cable box is hdmi output. so if i get...

It isn't impossible at all. You may need a sound bar if you don't already have a Bose surround sound system or a boom box or something else you can use without purchasing anything. On the hdmi/dvi televisions and cable boxes of the recent past there would always be an accompanying white and red composite/RCA slot (output on the cable box, input on the television) to accommodate this. You would simply connect the hdmi to dvi cable from the television to the cable box and then the red and white audio cable. If your television and cable box does not have the red and white composite/RCA audio input and output you will need to connect the cable box to an external audio source. How to do it and what to connect it to depends on what audio output that is on the cable box (usually is on the back of it). You might need a fiber optic cable and a sound bar with a digital audio input if you have a newer cable box.

Unfortunately I have to ask where the red and white audio cables are connected on the tv because there is no mention of that in the problem. There is only one place where they should be connected and it is on the top left where it says analog audio out. See page 10 of the manual.

To make sure the sound bar itself is working instead of connecting it to the television connect it to one of your devices like your cable box/satellite tv box or dvd player. It would go right into the red and white output hole on the device.
