What can I do to keep from falling asleep during the day as a result of taking Mirapex for restless legs.

First of all we need to rule out other causes of excessive day time sleepiness before blaming all that on the medicine. RLS itself can lead to insufficient sleep at night and excessive sleep during the day.
Another big problem due to obesity is Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Which leads to insufficient sleep at night and sudden and excessive sleepiness during the day.
I would suggest you talk to you doctor and can get a better history and perform a physical exam, he might refer you to a sleep specialist. In some people sleep study needs to be performed for further evaluation. The treatment will be focused on the underlying cause.

Windows sleep mode problems

Sleep mode on a Windows 7 PC saves power without you having to turn your computer off and without losing any work. This option cuts the power to your monitor, powers down the hard drive and pauses all functions until you awaken the computer from hibernation. Whether you have a laptop, desktop or workstation, putting your computer into sleep mode will lower your electric bill and save money! Click the "Start" button in the lower left corner of your desktop. In the lower right corner of the Start menu, next to the "Shut Down" button, is a button labeled with a small, right-pointing arrow. Mouse over the arrow. The Shut Down menu appears. Point at "Sleep" and click on this option. Your Windows 7 computer goes into sleep mode. Wake your computer from sleep mode by jiggling the mouse. There may be a delay of a few seconds before your hardware powers on. All of your open programs are still open and your work is intact, just as you left it before the computer entered sleep mode. Configure your Windows 7 PC to go into sleep mode automatically when it is not used for a certain amount of time. Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." Click "System and Security." Click "Power Options." A menu opens. Click on "Choose when the computer sleeps" and select the number of minutes of inactivity. You can also set a separate time interval to put your monitor into sleep mode. If you set both to 10 minutes, then your PC and monitor will automatically go into sleep mode after 10 minutes of inactivity

My display screen goes on and off

I find sleep mode nothing but trouble, eventually corrupts window files over extended use, go into power options, go to stand by and select never and click apply, next go to hibernate "top right" and click, make sure the check box is clear, if not! remove check and click apply and restart your laptop.

I have a problem with Wake On LAN (WOL) on my PC. I have a GA-G41M-ES2L (revision 1.0) motherboard. a) Upgraded my BIOS to v8 (Yes, v6 fixed an issue with WOL, which I upgraded to at the time, and now...

My only suggestion would be to go into Windows power options on control panel and see what it's set to do at shutdown. If it goes into hibernation,it will dump everything in RAM,which includes your WOL process.Try setting it to sleep instead and set the put computer to sleep time where you want.
Also, there's a link to "choose what the power button does",set that to sleep as well.
Good or bad, please rate my post?
Thanks
Bob

My HPw1707 monitor keeps going to sleep and I have to turn off the computer to get the programs to open when I want to work on anything.

Are you saying that the monitor is going to sleep or the computer? If the computer goes to sleep I can understand not being able to get to your programs. This is a simple matter of turning off hybirnate in the power supply icon of your control panel. If the monitor is going to sleep there should be a menu with a timer for sleep time. Just change it to a much longer time or turn it off.

Monitor says it is going to sleep and there is only a black screen.

Monitors go to sleep when there is no computer activity it detected. Also, when your OS is working and somehow you have set a "sleep" time, then the monitor goes to sleep at the appointed time. Just press ENTER or press the POWER BUTTON to bring it back to life without losing your computer work.

My computer keep shuting saying monitor going to

start button >settings >control panel > Power Option > set time for monitor to sleep if inactive...if you dont want the computer to sleep go up to the hibernate tab and uncheck it. If you want the computer to stay on regardless, move all drop down menus to "never" instead of a time.
