Can I connect my old Mac's ArtZ tablet to a new PC using ADB-to-USB adapter ?

You can try the Virtual Tablet Interface from Digitizer Technology: http://www.vtablet.com/

I haven't been able to get pressure sensitivity working in my drawing programs yet, but it does allow you to use the tablet in Windows 7.

Vista driver solution for Wacom ArtZ II Graphics Tablet?

Have you actually tried installing the XP driver in Vista? Sometimes that does work, so no harm in trying. Use the compatibility mode in Vista to install XP drivers to increase the chances of succeeding.

Older ArtZ II with ADB cable won't talk to my laptop

I'm thinking this is a Mac-only tablet. The ArtZ II for Windows came with an rs232 (old mouse) port at the end of the cable, in addition to a built-in spot where the power plug attaches. You didn't mention the power plug on yours, so the Mac version of the tablet must have the power routed in through the cable.

Short answer, the reason the light isn't coming on is because the tablet isn't receiving power. If you go get a cross-platform adapter card for plugging in Mac hardware on your HP, it *might* work.

Im using a serial to usb connector to connect my artZ II tablet to my laptop..

Sorry, I figured it out, it was because the serial to usb adapter i was using needed a driver, and then my computer recognizes it as an extra serial port. So, during installation it needed to be searched for automatically from my serial ports.

Can not install ArtZ tablet

Check the port it is connected to. Wacom seems to only recognize serial ports 1-8. I use a USB to Serial adapter and had to reassign it to a lower port number from 12. Go into Device Manager, select the connected device, right click to select Properties, the the Port Setting tab, Advanced button, COM port number. Ok you way back out. uninstall the Wacom software, then reinstall it, following the reboot prompts. It loads a service that tends to hang if the device is not connected when it starts. I had started disabling the tablet and the service just so I can avoid a reboot when I change ports.
