Each strip has it's own codes, when you swapped them you probably burnt the drivers out. I am surprised that they would plug in to different LCD arrays. You will probably have to replace the drivers for each strip. You can get the number off them and order them from eBay or I use [www.alldatasheets.com]. You can enter the part # there and it will give you the data sheets on each one. As a last resort contact the mfg. Their tech's can advise you better than anyone but I am sure replacing the BDC IC's will fix the problem.
your problem could be either photocells faulty or end of run connections miniatur reed switch or roker type next to the motor. i trust the motor is working? you can try to bridge the photocells connectors and also bridge the end of run connectors try one at the time and see how you get on ok?

There are three main reasons why the setup gives this error: Your harddrive crashed or you have an raid array that is not recognized by windows, use the drivers for the raid array, some raid controllers are not recognized by default by windows, you'll need to run those drivers manualy from out the windows setup. The controller on the motherboard is defective.
Go to the manufacturer of your computer to solve this problem.
